October 28, 200322 yr Hello All,I've done a little playing around now and downloaded EHAM from the library. I noticed that having all those extra gates had no effect on framerates compared with the default gate/taxiway layout. This is interesting - in fs2002, framerates were directly linked to the number of *visible* aircraft. In fs2004, before AFCAD's release, I often wondered why framerates were pretty poor at busy airports for the smaller number of gates. I've now come up with a conjecture - the ai engine is performing calculations on both planes that *are* at the airport as well as those that *are supposed to be* at the airport but aren't.Compared with fs2002, fs2004 airports with a full quota of gates seem to perform far better in terms of framerate. I typically got 6-9fps at EGLL in fs2002, now I'm getting 10-12fps at the same airport. Can anyone else confirm my observations?
October 28, 200322 yr I see the same thing using the Ultimate Traffic beta. With the AFCAD2 for KSFO installed framerates are 20-30% better. Same with KORD. I don't know why this is so, but it's sure a welcome surprise.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. October 28, 200322 yr Interesting. The algorithm for calculating current position as a function of departure time and speed must have improved. I would have figured that FR was impacted more heavily by the DRAWING of the AI rather than the CALCULATION of the AI - be it a calculation of an allowed position (available gate) or not.

I have had a look around the forums etc looking for answers on this, perhaps you could put me right. Can the program be used side by side with AFCAD2 so I could put GA only aircraft at airports that except AI, or is it meant only for the large jets. It looks good with all the extras that the freeware versions obviously don't give, timetable printouts etc.Anthony
October 28, 200322 yr It handles GA also. You can do just about anything you'd like with the included utilities. Have you stopped over at the Ultimate Traffic forums yet? Lots of good info there. http://dcforum.simforums.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgidoug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage.
