How to re-light your engines on the 757 or 767 (or 777)

Featured Replies

I just went through the manual of the PSS 757 looking for a procedure to re-start engines (when you swap aircraft midflight you end up with engines not running). during flight in case of flame out or other incident.I suppose emergency procedures and checklists aren't included in some flight sim products. Can someone offer a simple procedure or explanation or direct me to a resource?

Get the Level-D 767 and this is just a fraction of the info you get with it.If X–BLD not displayed:ENGINE START SELECTOR .......................................................FLTFUEL CONTROL SWITCH ......................................................... RUNAbort start if EGT fails to rise in 30 seconds. If X–BLD displayedPACK CONTROL SELECTOR (Either) ........................................OFF[Reduces pneumatic demand.]ISOLATION SWITCH (Affected side) ............................................ ONIGNITION SELECTOR ..............................................................BOTHENGINE START SELECTOR .....................................................GNDFUEL CONTROL SWITCH ......................................................... RUNSelect when N2 exceeds minimum fuel on command bug.Abort start if EGT fails to rise in 30 seconds. After engine started:ENGINE START SELECTOR ................................................... AUTOPACK CONTROL SELECTORS (Both) .................................... AUTOLEFT AND RIGHT ISOLATION SWITCHES ................................OFFGROUND PROXIMITY FLAP OVERRIDE SWITCH ...................OFFColin B

Thanks Colin,Stupid me I have already got it, I love that aircraft it is sooo hot!!I have done a real takeoff in the jumpseat on the 300 (Qantas pre 9/11) and because of the short distance we went straight up. The 76 has a HUGE power-to-weight ratio. A ANA check captain told me about this one.I'll read up.Daniel

I did a few real takeoffs in the 767-200 too, but from the front left-hand seat. ( My last 10 yrs before retirement.) :biggrin:Colin B

Would have been fun. I like the 767 very much, in fact it was the first aircraft I ever flew on. So what is your opinion of it? To fly? I know landing is a little tricky with wheels hanging frontward. It is very robust, reliable and trustworthy bird with good redundancy. It has a good record and it seems to me it is like the F4 Phantom and F-15, such a well built bird now everything else is not getting better. The pinnacle of 'old school' design and engineering. Now everything isn't as good anymore. The 787, F-35, it all seems to be not common sense anymore. Too many unknowns for me, a bit like the A380, the first time I ever felt uneasy flying. And I am hardcore, I don't get sick flying through very bumpy air.The A380 had some 'sticky' door seals that were noisy until halfway through the climb and the takeoff after leaving the ground felt too quiet (at the back on top level) for me. I like how it is quiet on the A380 though, and a lot of work went into its design. But remember the A320!The sound files in the Level D 767 package are awesome to say the least. The other products I have don't match it!! I have the PMDG 737, PSS 777 and 757 (still couldn't figure out the relight technique for the 757 as I tried it again). The CLS A330-340 package is not very good, but visually and soundwise it is quite nice. When I fly the 767 on Qantas (their birds are Eighties!) I feel very safe and feel the aircraft is very trustworthy.
