NGX Takeoff Distance?

Recommended Posts

Been going through the manuals and I'm curious how to calculate take off distances? I cant seem to find any mention of it.

TOPCAT says it will be included when it's released.

Im sure it will, but I'm interested in my own calculations - I'm geeky that way : )

When dealing with PMDG, especially the NGX, look at the real thing. Boeing put all the 737 models into one PDF instead of one per model with the 747, so it will take a while to scroll through.

Hello Noah!Normally when calculating all the dispatch data you want to find out what is the limit weight the plane can take off at from a given runway. However assuming you know your take off weight you can use the field limit weight table the other way around and look up what is the shortest runway the plane could potentially take off from at given TOW, temperature (assumed temperature if you use derate), pressure altitude. The length you would get from the table is wind and slope corrected so you'd need to apply a "reverse correction" to get the actual runway length. Well, that's one way to do it. biggrin.gifPS. Also I'm not sure if that FCOM has all the necessary tables or only the flaps 5 tables. If you need any more help just ask.
