You guys were both right - I didn't realize the brakes could be applied without the flag appearing and since I didn't have issues in other planes I didn't think that could be it.. After unplugging my pedals I was able to taxi normally. Thanks so much - now I need to figure out how to make the dead zone work.

I'm having an issue where the NGX has terrible performance both on the ground and in the air. I have many hundreds of hours in the NGX under FSX so I don't think I am doing anything wrong. In a nutshell it takes 65% N1 just to taxi at 10-15 kts At TO thrust it took me the entire length of a runway (10,000 feet) to get airborne and even then it took another few thousand feet or so to get out of ground effect. it take substantial back pressure on the stick to stay level at the trim calculated by the FMC. To try and climb it's full back pressure plus additional up trip to get a reasonable climb rate. Weights are all under MTOW. I tried payware and default airports. (KDEN payware and KPHX default). I tried a heavy-ish load (96% max payload and 30,000 lbs of fuel in the -800) as well as the default load out. During the default load-out the performance was better than at the heavier load out, but no where near what I remember on FSX. For example on the lighter load out it still took 45% N1 to taxi. Tried the 777 and had no trouble. The plane easily taxied with just a small push of the throttle and maintained a reasonable taxi speed when barely above idle at a pretty heavy load out of cargo and fuel. Brakes are off (no indication in the lower left) Chocks off 5 Degrees of flaps and no spoilers. I run ASN, FSUIPC and some payware sceneries, no other addons though. Anyone have any ideas? I searched the forums but couldn't find anything like this. Edit: did another test. This time 10k lbs under MTOW. It took 60% N1 just to start inching along. I tried emptying the plane of cargo and pax, and left only 5x fuel. I was able to taxi down the runway at 55kts with 60% N1, which still 'seems' slow but I am not sure.

Seriously thinking of switching to P3D v2.5 from FSX, but!

I just switched last month and the majority of what I spent was on PMDG 777 and 737 packages. Most everything else was minor. -
[03MAR15] PMDG's First Product for XPlane...
NoahBryant replied to rsrandazzo's topic in PMDG General Forum
So to be clear - is there any chance this will be a FSX/P3D plane? I'm one of those who have been waiting for years for announcements on the DC-6 and epic disappointed is all I can say to describe my reaction to this. I've tried X-Plane twice and just don't care for it at all. Especially since I just spent a ridiculous amount of money switching to P3D (a large portion going to PMDG, lol) -
I can attest to Kyle's abilities to repeatedly fly the same flight over and over again with only a minute change each time - the guy is relentless and has much more patience than me. Or may throw them a nice -300 license :Big Grin:

Which is what I'm trying to do.

I'm looking at page 11.42.35 (PDF Page1039) of the FCOMv2. "Pushing the line select key for one of the BRG/DIS entries copies the fix place/bearing/distance definition into the scratchpad" However I can't actually make that happen. Nothing gets copied to the scratchpad. Any ideas? I see a reference to the fix page on the bug tracker but I dont think this is the same thing.

One of my favorite 737 preview threads was one where Robert wrote about several examples of quirks of the 737. Things most of us wouldn't even notice if we didn't fly or maintain the plane. I'm wondering if anyone from the team can share things like that about the 777? Things like how the temperature of the cabin will change if the doors are open, brake temp disapation etc. Screenshots are great, but they only show off the eye candy. I'd love to hear more about the systems and immersion of the sim. I'll admit I was never really excited about the 777 and was really looking forward to the DC6. Maybe you guys can change that?

Where can one find the best checklists for NGX?

Whats wrong with the ones it comes with? -
Okay so I bought a new MB. It wasn't the exact same one but it was the newer version. After a long night of Pizza, Beer and microchips I rebuilt the computer into a new case. So far so good - I dont have everything working 100% yet but it seems like it will end up fine. Yes, it was as simple as just booting to the old hard drive that had the OS on it. I obviously had to install the new drivers but otherwise it went really smoothly. So far no requests to re-register windows.

So I screwed up. I was trying to diagnose a problem I was having with my new SSD and in the process I physically damaged my PCI Express Slot. There's no fixing it. I built the system myself without difficulty but I've never had a situation like this happen before. Is it possible for me to just replace the MoBo and have everything magically work again? lol it's a long shot but... The MoBo is the ASUS P8Z68VPRO. There's another PCI Express slot that is available but due to the physical constraints in the box my vid card wont fit into it..I suppose I could possibly try putting everything into a new box and maybe just using the second slot...

Can someone who knows the aircraft tell me if it's accurate that the engines should be able to start using battery power alone? I just tried starting the engines with no APU/Ground power and it worked fine.
