All the amazing quirks

One of my favorite 737 preview threads was one where Robert wrote about several examples of quirks of the 737. Things most of us wouldn't even notice if we didn't fly or maintain the plane.

I'm wondering if anyone from the team can share things like that about the 777?

Things like how the temperature of the cabin will change if the doors are open, brake temp disapation etc.

Screenshots are great, but they only show off the eye candy. I'd love to hear more about the systems and immersion of the sim. I'll admit I was never really excited about the 777 and was really looking forward to the DC6. Maybe you guys can change that?

Very nice idea, I would be interested in this too. :)

Mitch - That forum smartass.

This is something I'd love to see mentioned. Thanks for bringing it up.

Rob (or Ryan?) has mentioned some things already, mostly about electrical systems. Things like batteries only actually going out a while after you push the buttons, and different sequences for stanby power connection and disconnection.

Haha - just wait until you hear the power up sequence.  There are enough quirks in there to keep you busy for a little while.

I'm waiting for the first post about it:

"When I power the plane, it [blah blahblah blah], which is NOT AT ALL REALISTIC!!!  Here's a YouTube video of preflighting, and it doesn't have it."

[As everyone notices the plane had already been powered in the whole video...]

Sounds interesting, care to provide more detail?

Does it simulate various relays coming online when switching from lets say battery power to apu/ground power??

or avionics fans coming on?

Details, Details!!

Details, Details!!

It simulates the systems running their tests in the background while you run through the other items.  Various systems will come online, test, and then shut back off (the audio test will probably startle a few people the first couple times they hear it).  The fans go through a nice little sequence that, when you first hear it, will sound like someone is messing with you and turning them on and off.

Even if you don't normally go from dark to dark on flights, it's worth starting with the Cold and Dark panel state at least once, just to see what detail has been put into the plane.

I remember I think someone had shown a video of that system powerup in this forum quite sometime ago, but I just cannot find it back. But remember that yeah while the 737 goes pretty fast once powered, it was taking a little time for the 777, obviously lots of stuff must be going on behind the curtain to initialize all the sytems as the AC must I think check all of it's systems too at that point.

Yes we've seen every corner off the cockpit by now with all those screenshots. Some more in depth system views would be nice.

Remember the AOA preview video`s? They were brilliant!
