October 29, 200322 yr 1. Judging from a number of previous posts and the Just Flight site, am I correct in concluding that this bird is completely compatible with FS9? Please confirm or if anyone knows differently, please let me know.Though a bit pricey, my conclusion is that this package would be in the running at least thus far as a leader of the pack for the few payware planes available for FS9. I would be interested in anybody's evaluation and recommendations (Pertaining to FS9 installation).2. Is my interpretation correct that "Capt Sim" and "727 Professional" are the same package, or have I combined two titles and packages in error?3. There seem to be a number of posts which imply some difficulty with registration/installation/ and upgrading. With the purchase of the newest version, assumed to be on CD, is the installation straight forward from the CD with no registration required in a simple forward conventional manner, and is it FS9 compatible with no upgrading required?4. Has anyone purchased the latest version specifically for FS9, and do you have any comments relative to the above concerning installation and/or registration?5. I notice in the screenshots on the Just Flight site, that the console includes an FMC. Is this just eye candy, or has a functional FMC been added to this old bird? Thanks:RTH
October 29, 200322 yr I cannot answer all these questions, but maybe I can give some information ...JustFlight's 727 Professional is indeed CaptainSim's Legendary 727, pressed on CD! CS have updated their plane to FS9, and it works very well in the new sim. I don't know if JustFlight have updated the CD, or if you have to download an update from their website. I cannot say anything about the installation of the JustFlight CD package, because I have the CS download package. The current CS download version installs without problems, the old manual activation procedure has been replaced by an instant automatic activation, but AFAIK you need an internet connection to install.Regarding #5, the 727 is not equipped with an FMC. I cannot see any hint of an FMC on the screenshots, just a CRT monitor in front of the throttle quadrant. I guess that's a weather radar in the original plane, but it's not working in FS9 due to limitations of the sim, again AFAIK.I hope the information above is correct and helpful. Although I don't fly jets very often, I think that CaptainSim's 727 is a fantastic plane, and if you like older jets, you should really enjoy this one.Just my 2c (EUR),VOlker :]
October 29, 200322 yr The plane simulates a "typical" 727. Very few had FMCS or INS systems installed. For instance, UAL's fleet of 727s, now retired, had two VORs and an ADF. That's it. The vast majority of 727s had no more than this basic radio nav set up. So, I don't think it's a hit against CS that they don't have an FMC in the plane. Few did.
October 29, 200322 yr I hope someone can come along and answer your question about whether or not there's any problem trying to patch the CD version, as I also have the Full v1.5 download package and have no problems. I mostly wanted to say that this is a great plane to have IMO. Seems I have seen it posted before that you need to run the sim in 1600x1200 res to get the full detail of the 2D panel. I am not sure about that though as I have always run my sim at 1600x1200 and all I can say is dig that photorealistic panel and co-pilot! If you should decide to get this plane then I suggest you get the excellent tutorial by Mike Stinchfield (RangerJack) from the Avsim library. The filename is 'cs27tutorialfs9.zip'.Cheers,Jim
October 29, 200322 yr I have the downloaded version from Captain Sim and it works beautifully! One of the best addons I have purchased yet.
October 29, 200322 yr As with Yellow 5 above. I am running the download 1.5 version with zero probs at all. In fact have just completed a flight from Chicago to San Francisico using Radar Contact. No probs at all, runs perfectly and no it doesn't have an FMC. You can however create a flight plan and load that and couple the a/p to it via the nav/gps switch. Am using FSNAV and FSBUILD for FP creation.RgdsTimhttp://www.spottedantelope.com/bwomack/ima...aam-sim_sig.gif
