January 2, 201115 yr I have just built a new system using the above graphics card, WIN 7 64BIT and find that it is not possible to run two screens as a wide desktop under WIN7. Software message says can still be done on XP. How useless is that?On the 747 the cockpit looks more like a C172 than a 747 with single screen.Kevin Kyle
January 3, 201115 yr Win 7 is designed like that. To get that 1 desktop, you need triple/dual head 2 go or similar product. Also both monitors need to be identical size and resolution, otherwise it won't work correctly. 3x widescreens are not recommended. Most people go for 3x 1280x1024 monitors. Gives a more accurate image, while 3x 1920x1080 makes the cockpit too stretched.
January 3, 201115 yr Not an nVidia fella here, but the GTX 465 sports:NVIDIA® 3D Vision™ Surround Ready*Expand your games across three displays in full stereoscopic 3D for the ultimate “inside the game” experience with the power of 3D Vision and SLI technologies. NVIDIA® Surround™ also supports triple screen gaming with non-stereo displays.... that perhaps you could activate in the video driver and use instead of a hardware solution like the Matrox TH2Go. If you got this route try to also activate the "bezel hiding" feature (if available).Cheers,- jahman.
January 3, 201115 yr But I don't understand. NVidia cards nearly all have 3 ports, 2 DVI and a hdmi/mini-hdmi. And only 2 of these ports can be used at once. I'm not sure how you can use more than two, but I searched for a while in the nVidia control panel and couldn't find how to activate it. A google search told me it was only available in XP. Currently I'm using 2 HDMI's, and I have a TH2Go system on order, along with 3 24" 4:3 LCDs. I might have to cancel this if someone can come up with how to work this with only the card and the drivers. That's the only negative I find of nVidia control panel. ATI catalyst centre allows you to triple screen immediately through eyefinity. It took me about 2 minutes to setup my works displays, yet its taken me 4 months and counting to figure out how to setup my gaming system...a bit annoying.
January 3, 201115 yr Current NVidia cards do not support more than 2 monitors each. If you want 3 monitors you have to use another card, be it for SLI or not.
January 3, 201115 yr Or TH2Go. That only requires 1 Graphics card, only uses 1 slot and extends the single screen across 3 screens.
