October 30, 200322 yr HiWhen i upgraded to a giga-byte ga-7vax mobo a few months ago, i installed the 512 Mb's of PC2100 RAM from my previous mobo. However, as the ga-7vax has a 333fsb, i was thinking of upgrading the ram to PC3200 (DDR400). My question is would this be a worth while exercise, ie, would i see any noticeable speed improvement ?Gary
October 30, 200322 yr Gary,As far as upgrading your memory no you wouldn't really see that big a performance increase. The speed difference between the 2 would probably only show during a benchmark. You also need to realize that a 333Mhz FSB is PC2700. Not PC3200 as you state. You may be able to run the memory with that board but the memory will be ruuning in an underclocked state therefore defeating the purpose. To reap the benefits of using the PC3200 you would have to run the MB at an overclocked FSB.As this is an AMD MB you may find it more difficult to OC depending on your current CPU clock speed.Hope this helped.Bobby
