OT: Screenshot Capture Program

Featured Replies

Hello all... I know it's a bit OT, but since I need a screenshot program primarily for FS I'll ask here. In everyone's opinion, what's the best screenshot program available? I've used the trial of SnagIt and found it to be kinda nice, but the price is a bit steep. I don't mind paying for a program, but a little less than $40 preferably. I've found the price of EasyScreenCapture from LongFine.com to be acceptable ($20), but I haven't heard anything about it.What I need is:A program to sit in the system tray all the time, and when I hit the prnt screen button automatically save an image in a format of my choosing into a directory of my choosing without any kind of watermark on the image. Also, it would be nice to specify where I want the shot taken. I have two monitors, but typically only want to capture from one of them. Many thanks in advance for the info from the metaphorical horses' mouths!Ken

Hi Ken,The program that you want that will do exactly what you're asking for, except maybe one thing, is for free! It's by Matthias Holzer and it's in the Avsim library. The filename is 'fsscreen.zip'. The one thing it doesn't that I think you're asking for is allow you to pick where the screenshot goes. This program saves all the screenshots in the directory where it's running. So there's no interruption while flying except maybe a slight pause when you press the PrintScreen key. You just hit PrintScreen as many times as you want and keep going. It will work with any program at any time as far as I know, even while just wanting to takes screens of your desktop. Hope that helps.Cheers,Jim

Try screenhunter from www.wisdom-soft.comBest of all, it's free :)Tim

Hi Ken,I have used FSScreen in the past, but there is a program that does one better, by allowing you to save it directly to whatever folder you like, in whatever size, and different extensions as well, bmp, jpg, gif, etc...It is based upon FSScreen, but taken further. The Link is in German, but just scroll to the bottom and look for the link for YAFSScreen.BTW - It is 100% Freeware. I promise you will not be dissapointed. Why pay for a program when one is available for free. :-)Here is the Link:http://www.littoral-airlines.com/bien_debuter_vol_reseau.htmHope this helps,Joehttp://aboutpolitics.net/images/bannerav.gif.About Politics.net - FORUMShttp://pub207.ezboard.com/bpoliticsgivemel...tyorgivemedeath.Contribute to the Richard Harvey Scholarship Fund.http://www.avsim.com/pages/scholarship.shtml
