January 6, 201115 yr FSX loads the terrain data OK but then after that a messages appear asking me to delete files. For example: delete /0101/scenery/ptx1414 How can I resolve this please? That's one I've never encountered or heard of; do you have the diskless option [diskless_mode=On] enabled? If so, try setting to "off". Even the few times I've run 'diskless', I don't remember TP asking to delete files. Is this message from TP or from Windows or some other program that is monitoring?ptx1414 defines the far NW of the US; do you have some addon scenery for the Pacific Northwest that might be in conflict and needs to be disabled when running TileProxy? It could (remotely) be that there is a duplicate somewhere in the scenery.cfg or TileProxy has detected some problem. ptx1414.bgl is the scenery file that is effective when TP is NOT on; ptx1414.bgl.on controls when TP is on and allows the phototiles to be seen. All the TileProxy regions parallel the default scenery structure and should be higher priority than default - not necessarily at the very top but mine is just above Utlimate Terrain entries which is just above the Addon Scenery in the default order. Modified airports and other scenery are higher on the list but they display on top of the photo scenery anyway. You might try a Explorer search for duplicates of this file. If there are no duplicates, you wouldn't want to delete this file.Good Luck!Loyd Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
January 6, 201115 yr Author Hi Lody,Thank you for your swift reply.'Do you have the diskless option [diskless_mode=On] enabled?' It is set to 'off''Is this message from TP or from Windows or some other program that is monitoring?'It is after FSX loads the terrain data.'ptx1414 defines the far NW of the US; do you have some addon scenery for the Pacific Northwest that might be in conflict and needs to be disabled when running TileProxy?' No, it is a fresh install of both windows 7 and FSX.'Is the scenery file that is effective when TP is NOT on; ptx1414.bgl.on controls when TP is on and allows the phototiles to be seen.'Yes. It is fine. Thanks again for your swift reply.Paul
January 6, 201115 yr That error message is from FSX. I don't know why.You may have to check really close in the scenery.cfg.Does it throw the error every time you go to a new location? Is it actually deleting? I hate alerts that only allow 'OK'... No, it's not ok dammit! Are your TP scenery entries at the top of the list in the scenery dialog window? vs at the top of the scenery.cfg text.If TP isn't properly working yet, I'd recommend a reinstall... but keep the caches isolated from the scenery and preferably from FSX. Easier to spot errors and debugC:\FSXC:\Tileproxy (app files and ini)C:\Tileproxy photoreal World (created scenery files storage and all the ptx files)C:\Cache1 (downloaded jpg imagery)C:\Cache3 (downloaded jpg imagery)Caches can be anywhere and created/moved/deleted at will - so long as the reference is correct in the .ini file. Photoreal World CAN NOT be moved; reinstall required to change it.Loyd Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
January 7, 201115 yr Author Hi Loyd,Thank you again for your assistance.'You may have to check really close in the scenery.cfg.'What should I be looking for exactly? I have just checked this and at the top it says 'FS9' is this correct when my Flightsim is FSX? (see below)'Does it throw the error every time you go to a new location?'Yes.'Is it actually deleting?'No. If i click to ignore the error and keep click all the scenery errors it takes me into FSX and I can fly no problem but it is the normal scenery and not Tileproxy if I do that'Are your TP scenery entries at the top of the list in the scenery dialog window?'I don't see any entries. Can you type an example of what one would look like please.'.... TP isn't properly working yet, I'd recommend a reinstall'I have already re-installed it twice.Regards,Paul
January 7, 201115 yr Paul,Scenery Dialog... the World_nnnn entries ARE the Tileproxy added entries - so that much is OK.Yes, FS9 World scenery in cfg file is also normal.cfg entry in the text of the scenery.cfg:YOUR area.number and layer number will be different, as will your location but this is what mine looks like.[Area.256]Title=WORLD_1105Local=D:\\TileProxy Photoreal World\1105Layer=255Active=TRUERequired=FALSE---- other functional entries ----[Area.277]Title=Addon TPphotoAPLocal=Addon TPphotoAPLayer=260Active=TRUERequired=FALSE[Area.278]Title=WindRiverLocal=R:\WindRiverLayer=282Active=FALSERequired=FALSEAddon folder is in FSX, of course, but why the single-slash and double-slash entries; they work equally well but TP "\\" was done by the installer, "\" was manually done.I can't see your whole scenery.cfg but make sure that you don't have two sets of TP entries in the cfg. If you've tried multiple installs, did you specify different install locations that may have left some pieces behind. The more I think about this, the more certain I am that I've also has an error like this long ago. How did I fix it? Don't remember if I reinstalled TileProxy, rebuilt the scenery.cfg, deleted the Scenery.dat, copied scenery.dat from backup or what. It doesn't have the issue any more but I also didn't make notes about it either and I don't remember.I'm at the end of my ideas... perhaps someone else has had (and resolved) something like this beforeLoyd Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro

However, I have since found out from another post this:'Hey Mark, (or anyone else having a bit of trouble getting TP to run properly), there might be a small hitch in Ed's (excellent) tutorial in regard to placement of the cache folders. TIP: DONT create a folder for the cache files, and instead, just let TP create their own cache folders on the ROOT of the drive you select, i.e., "E:\" or "F:\" etc...That's what did it for me, and since then, i have been doing back flips off my desk every time i fire up FSX!! ; -)'But, when installed applying the above advice, regarding the folder cache, it seemed to do the trick but then the texture loader always freezes on 38%(please see picture). What is going on? Regards,Paul

Just follow his instructions above and you should be good to go. Also, make sure to copy the Tileproxy.ini into your root folder, I forgot and hence that is why the first time the above didn't work for me.Thank you to Loyd for his time and patience and to all those others who replied.Paul
