January 10, 201115 yr When I take off in the Iris t-6a with one notch of flaps (takeoff cfg) it takeoff fine but when I raise the flaps the plane sinks very drastically and I have to fly nose up to keep altitude. And when I drop the flaps to land, it balloons (more like shoots) the plane upward at a very un realistic rate. What can I do to quell the effects of the flaps. What file do I edit? Thanks! -Pete
January 10, 201115 yr How does the aeroplane fly in real life? There are many types that experience significant changes in angle of attack when flaps are extended/retracted. As a pilot one anticipates this and corrects the trim to prevent the aeroplane from porpoising all over the sky!vololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
January 10, 201115 yr Hi PeteYou need to look at the [Flaps.0] section in the aircraft.cfg file. There you will find three entries - lift_scalar, drag_scalar and pitch_scalar. Try altering the values of these - lower values reduce the effect and higher values increase the effect.Hope this helps.David
