January 14, 201115 yr Hi there, let's assume we are using service1 (=Bing Maps). If I open my web browser and look at somewhere around Frankfurt airport (Germany) I see default aerial view (=satellite view). But I also can choose "Bird View" (detailed image) for this region, as HQ images are available. These are aerial pictures made by airplanes or helicopters, and therefore show much more details. My question is:How can we put Tileproxy to also download this very high LOD pictures at BIRD VIEW? I adjusted my Bing service to use max_lod=21 but TP doesn't seem to load these BIRD VIEW pictures. Anyone knows, how to do that? January 14, 201115 yr Author Well, the syntax for normal BingMaps (=virtualearth) is:http://ecn.t0.tiles.virtualearth.net/tiles/a1202033022013313.jpeg?g=618The filename of the tile starts with an 'a' that means aerial. These are normal satellite photos. The Syntax for the enhanced bird view images in BingMaps is:http://ecn.t0.tiles.virtualearth.net/tiles/o12020330220-4151-19-27.jpeg?g=618http://ecn.t0.tiles.virtualearth.net/tiles/o12020330220-4151-19-28.jpeg?g=618http://ecn.t0.tiles.virtualearth.net/tiles/o12020330220-4151-19-35.jpeg?g=618http://ecn.t0.tiles.virtualearth.net/tiles/o12020330220-4151-19-36.jpeg?g=618'o' means bird view mode. The problem is, you cannot just change the 'a' into 'o'. As you see the syntax is quite different now. After the quad coordinate 12020330220 there is another syntax 4151, then the zoom level follows 19 and then another index number. Zoom numbers valid are 19 and 20. But how could we tell Tileproxy to use this Bird View? There is no variable in TileProxy set as far as I know to handle this syntax, right? January 15, 201115 yr Author Anyone? This might be interesting to solve. Here's the example:Normal satellite image (Aerial View):High Quality Image with Angle view (Bird View): Asus Rampage II Extreme X58, i7 920 @4 GHz, 12GB RAM OCZ Platinum @1.646MHz 7-7-7-20 (1T), Noctua NH-U12P SE1366, Sapphire HD-5870 Vapor-X , 30" Dell @2560x1600 pixel, SSD Intel X-25 M for OS, 1 TB WD Caviar Green for FSX, be quiet Dark Power Pro P7 650W AT, Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion + Teufel 5.1 Surround Set, LG Blu-Ray-ROM LG DVD+/-RW, Aerocool FP-01 Flip-Panel, Lian Li ARMORSUIT P60 black, Windows7 64bit Ultimate.
January 15, 201115 yr Author I found an interesting article how-to extract bird's view material and also a method to check if there's birdview image material available. This is another description of Bird's View Maybe Christian (=author of TileProxy) is able to include this function in his superior program? All the program code is provided already in the mentioned links. It would be great if Tileproxy would be able to handle these bird's view tiles. So there should be two more variables, which we can use in Service Configuration. Is it possible to integrate in TileProxy? What do you think? January 15, 201115 yr Is it possible to integrate in TileProxy? What do you think?I think the angle views of the "Bird's Eye" would be very distracting and unnatural but 'thinking out of the box' is good exercise. I would not want to be the one to HAVE to do it or the calculations to incorporate that type of imagery. I suspect it might not be possible.Loyd Hooked since FS4... now flying: FSX Acceleration on Win7/64, Core Duo E8400; GA-EP45-DS3R; GTX 460-768MB; 4G RAM; Freezer 7 Pro
January 15, 201115 yr Author Nothing is impossible my friend ;) the program code already is provided in the links I posted. It's just a question of implementation into Tileproxy and how much work/effort it will cost/gain ;)Greetings,Pegasus.
