November 9, 200322 yr Hi all,I have noticed that after installing some AFCAD files into FS2004 that the Progressive Taxi line does not appear, and also no ground ATC directions after landing. Does anyone know why this occurs, is there an option that needs changing for the AFCAD file?RegardsDK
November 10, 200322 yr I will try to explain it.If you get parking instruction from ther ground control and don't see the pink line, it means that the airport reference point in the AF2 file is bellow the ground. You can try to open the AF2 file in Afcad 2 and put the reference point few feets higher. If you cannot ask for parking, only take off is offered, it means that the airport has no parking spot for your aircraft. For example your plane is too big for remaining pakings or there are no free parkings on the airport. You can check the parking radiuses for the airport again with Afcad 2. And you also can check size of your aircraft. Each aircraft with FS has it's model (file with extension .mdl in the 'model' subfolder of the particular aircraft folder). Size of the aircraft is on byte 0x1c of the model file (but only on models created with gmax, mdl file begins with 'RIFF'). The value there is in meters. Use some hex editor or you can use utility named aitm which also has this ability (under Tools/Aircraft Editor in main menu).Suggested values aresmall single engine GA aircrafts: 5 - 8bigger single engine and small twins: 9 - 14 (DHC6 and similar)small airliners: 15 (B1900, Dash7, Dash8, Saab 340, ATR, microjets)small jets: 24 (727, 717, Fokker 70 and 100, DC9, A318, A319, MD87)bigger jets: 32 (A321, A310, A300, MD80, MD90, 707, 757, 767, DC8)big jets: 39 (DC10, A330, 747, 777, MD11, A330, A340)
