Trouble with HHIKER.zip

Featured Replies

I am running FSX SP2 and have recently added the HHIKER.zip (b26 marauder) to my collection. The exe. file asks whether it should be placed in FS2002 or FS2004.I chose FS2004.The installation was successful except for the 2D panel. If I choose the 2D panel I get a "Fatal Error" message from Windows and the sim crashes and restarts. Is there a work around to get the 2D panel and mini panel to work? The bitmap for the panel is very strange-all black with pink circles for the guages. There doesn't seem to be any panel image. Is it just too old to port into FSX? Anxiously awaiting, unclegreg

As a test, I just installed it and it worked fine for me - I did have to cycle through the views once to get the VC to display properly but the 2D displayed correctly the first time.My FSX setup includes Sp1 and Sp2 - no Acceleration on XP Operating System. Perhaps yours is different.Frankly I was quite surprised that it worked at all in FSX.

Just for fun, try setting your default panel view to 2D instead of VC and see what happen when you load the Marauder. That is done on the Settings/Aircraft dialogue if memory serves. Edit added:I have never used Vista but have read that the following may help address some display issues:------Right-click on your FSX desktop icon, and do the following:1. Click on Properties2. Click on the Compatibility tab3. Put a check mark for Disable visual themes and Disable desktop composition.4. Click on Shortcut tab set your Permissions.5. Click on Apply5. Click on Advanced button6. Put a check mark on Run as administrator. ------Some say that turning off aircraft shadows may be useful also.Keep us posted please.

Thanx for all the tips but nothing is working.I turned off aircraft shadows and opened in 2D panel.I even tried opening another aircraft in 2D panel and switching to the b26.I opened the properties on the FSX desktop icon but can't find anything that says compatabilities .It's gettin' late,I'll check back tomorrow.Thank you for your help. unclegreg
