No Landings and Taxi Lights on ground

Featured Replies

Hallo everybody!Yesterday I have downloaded the wonderfull TinMouse B-737 200 Model.I have installed the Aircaft in my FS-9 by following by the letter on the installation Procedure in the Readme. Then I was very currious about this beautyfull panel and Aircraft, and have take a night Flight from KSEA to KLAX.So I have seen that I don't get the Landings and Taxi Light to work.In the external view I can see that all Lights are On and Working, but from Outside and Inside I have no Lights on the ground or Lightsrefelxions that I can see.Normaly you can see the Lightbeam on Ground, as Reallife and in the Simulation.A second strange think I have remarked in the Cockpit, as I pan the Insideviews I can see (Keyboard Num Pad holding down #1 or with Joystick Pod) from the last left Windows Outside, but No Wing is to see (thats Normal for FS-9 so I have can read in Forums) but I see blinking only the white Strobes light, but all other Lights (Navigation Red Light, Hi Intensity white rear Lights) are not displayed.I send you Screenshoots, so you can see it and imagine it.So my Questions:1.) How I get the Landings and Taxi Lights to display the Lightreflexions on the Ground and is their an Update or Patsch available to correct this issue?2.) How I get this strange Strobelight effect away from the Cockpit Inside Left Rear View? If not possible, how I get than the correcting displaying of the other Lights on the Wing from the Inside Left Rear View, to correct this untrue View?In this Forum I don't have found any answer to this Questions. I have found other Topics about Landinglights Probleme but that seem this Peoples can see her Lights on the Ground, because they wrotte how they can dim the Lights, for this Peoples the Lights are to bright.I have check all parameters in my FS-9 Options Menu (Display Setings, Reality and so on) but it seems to be allright.Thank you for your help and friendly Greetings fromGraz - Austria - EuropeMarcPS: Sorry for my English it isn't very well.

Usually a failure to see the lights on the ground is caused by not having the "Landing Lights" option checked in the Display -> Aircraft settings in FS9.I don't see the strobe light in the left-rear cockpit view--my guess is this could possibly be caused by use of third-party lighting effects, either directly or possibly some add-on that has replaced some of the default light effects and/or bitmaps.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

Dear Mr. Scott!Thank you for your fast reply. I have looked in my FS-9 Optionssettings. Also, in tab General is#1 the Option "Lightrefelections" is on.In the tab Aircraftssettings is #2 (see Screenshoot in German) the Aircraftslights Option is on (Last item on the Screenshoot titeled: Landescheinwerfer)This I have thinking before I have post my request and as mentioned above, I have checked before. So for my Question Nr: 2, maybe you have right, I have the Shockwave Redux Package, but I have not installed or activated it in the TinMouse Aircraft. In the Aircraft.cfg, is all as it is from the original as I have installed them yesterday evening.I haven't make any modifications to the files, because I am not a programmer and I have no idea how all this stuff works. For me it is a big mountain of Numbers that they saying nothing for me. The only think that I can do is installing new Liveries in the Aircrafts.cfg's, but as mentioned since my installation yesterday I haven't make any modifications or liveries installations. So, what can be the problem of this issues? I am in the dark.Thank you again.SincerlyMarc

Some third-party lighting packages actually replace some of the default lighting files...spotlight.bmp seems a favorite for add-on devs to replace without much regard for what it does to add-ons other than their own.Do the lights work properly with the default 737-400 at night?RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

Dear Mr. Scott!I have now loaded the default Boeing 737-400 as mentioned from your reply. So if you can see in my two Screenshots, the Landings- and Taxilights (Default Lights installed, Not the Shockwave Lights) will work very well.So I hoppe that I have can help you to find a solution for my problem.Friendly GreetingsMarcPS: Thank you for your Plane it is beautyfull to fly and your Cockpit is superb.

First, do you have the plane powered normally (generator or APU power selected on the overhead) when you're testing the lights? If there's no main AC bus power, the lights will not work. The panel lights do (incorrectly) operate when there's no power, a limitation still present from the original TinMouse gauges. Also, when using the TinMouse model, there should be a line in the aircraft.cfg for a small 1 gallon right tip tank in the fuel section--the presence of this tank is used by the panel to identify that one of Terry Gaff's TinMouse models is in use. If this line is removed or commented out, the animations necessary for the landing lights will not be triggered. Also, the tailhook and folding wings sections of the aircraft.cfg are required for the light and spoiler animations to work correctly. Are you using the models that came with the TinMouse package, or something else?RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

Dear Mr. Scott!First I will thank you for your Support. As I test your beautyfull Aircraft at night, the Airplane is in Take-OFF configuration. That means, that all engines (1+2) are running nominal at Idle Power, that all Buses are Powered by the Generators 1+2 (No blue Lights on the Geneartors Switches are ON, DC and AC AMPS Gauge Manometer cheked all Buses On-Line CPS read ca. 400) TR 1 to TR 3 reads Nominal. BAT Switch ON, Standby Bus Switch ON, Bus Transfer Switch ON, APU and APU Generator OFF (blue Light is ON at APU shutdown above the APU Generator Switch and then gets out).I do not have installed other TinMouse modificated Aircrafts by other Programmers. I have downloade this Files from www.flightsim.com: tinmouse_ii_v1_25-737-200.zip,tinmouse_ii_v1_26.zip, tinmouse_ii_v1.30_fs9.zip, tinmouse_ii_v1.31_update.zip, tinmouse_ii_v1.32_update.zipAll what you are asking me for the Aircrafts cfg. is their on the right place in the aircrafts cfg (See partial Screenshots of the Aircrafts cfg).So I hope that I have can helped you a little bit to find the Problem.Friendly GreetingsMarc

If I may add a thought here, I too had the problem with the taxi and landing lights, but only on the TM2, none of the defaults or the other addon aircraft I had.About the same time I noticed that my nighttime ramp lighting was looking "dim"I traced that problem to an addon of mine called Ultimate Night Environment, specifically the spotlight.bmp file. I reinstalled my original Spotlight.bmp for FS9 and lo and behold the TM2 has beautiful landing lights and the ramplights are much brighter. What is odd, is that my default/payware aircraft had their normal taxi/landing lighting throughout this, both before and after. Don't understand that, but I never look a gift horse in the mouth.RandyRamjett53

Dear Mr. Scott, Dear Randy! You both have giving me the solutions, about my Light problem. I have made a search about this Spotlight.bmp with the Windows Explorer Searchtool to find this file in the Main FS-9 Texture Folder and then I have looked inside, and I found severals Spotlight.bmp that are renamed for backup prupose and one File as active one.So I have looked for the oldest one (I hope that this Spotlight.bmp will be the original one from FS-9 first installation) and rename it back to Spotlight.bmp as active one.Eureca, this was the hint!!!! :( Bravo to you boths, you have find it.So I send you two Screenshot with working Landing and Taxi Lights.Thank you again for your great help, in first place to you Mr. Scott and then to you too Randy. So since the problem is now sloved I will close this Topic.Thank you to all again that have readen this Topic too, for looking if they can help and toose that have posted.Friendly Greeting to all of you.MarcPS: This is a great Forum.
