I have an idea to improve ASE

Featured Replies

Just thought of this and forgive me if this feature already exists.ASE is a big part of deciding where I want to fly. I almost always fly passenger jets on semi realistic routes. I like my origin and destination to have interesting weather. I always start at an airport that I have add on scenery for and I like to land with add on scenery as well. I always have a tough time trying to match the weather with the appropriate scenery and the appropriate aircraft with a paint for an appropriate airline.Similar to using the weather finder and limiting the search to a specific prefix, it would be really cool if I could make a text file with all of the airport codes that I would consider flying between and I could filter the search to only those airports. I guess my list would include 100-200 airports so searching for each one individually would be pretty time consuming. When I do a search for IMC, lots of airports come up that I have no need for. If I use limit by prefix, I could miss an international destination. Example - If I want to do a 5 hour from a US airport, I still want to include destinations in Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean. Being able to customize the search for the airports I want to fly would make this process a lot easier. It would also be great for people that primarily use scenery that is limited to a specific geographic area (ORBX) or people that primarily fly only one aircraft. If all you fly is the LD767, all of those GA airports are really not useful. If all you fly is the PMDG MD-11, you will probably want to customize a list that consists of big cargo hubs around the world. Maybe you only fly the routes of one airline. I usually fly from US hubs to holiday destinations... Lots of applications for a feature like this.Just a thought.

Jeff,For any 500 mile radius or less:http://map.aeroplanner.com/mapping/chart/NearbyAPT.cfmThe advanced search can limit things even more.
