November 15, 200322 yr Guys, I reached a momentous occasion last night for me. I flew my 1001st simulated hour in MSFS. This basically represents 1000 sessions for me... I personally fly GA, or regional/mid range commercial jets plus vintage airliners, usually in the afternoon timeframe into early evening. This 1000 hours took me 2 years of flying basically every day. Given my extremely busy business and family life, I am lucky to take an hour here and there for a simulated flight. I do this just to zone out and relax from the day. My usual flight is about an hour. The very long distance flights are interesting to me only for planning, take off and landing. i dont have the time for the multiple hour flights (though in real life I have flown to Asia 4 times this year, Europe twice and S. America once!)What I would like to know about you folks is...1. How long did it take to reach 1000 hours for you. 2. What sim version was it.3. Whats your typical flight time per session.Eric AND
November 15, 200322 yr Hi Eric,I reached 1000 hours back in the FS95 days and since then have literally thousands of hours. I typically fly the heavies and do anything from short hauls to the long ones. I enjoy recreating flights I have taken in the real world the most. I would say I spend way too much time at this hobby ( at least 6 hours a day) between flying and designing, but that will soon change as I'm thinking about taking a break to spend more time with the family and other interests.By the way, it is an interesting thread ;)Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns/AFG GroupPanel/FDE Designer
November 15, 200322 yr 1. How long did it take to reach 1000 hours for you.took me 9 months. 2. What sim version was it.fs95 and,in fs2k2 from 18-3-03 untill today i've logged exactly 1085.9 hrs,the last session being 2 practice approaches for the expressway visual rw31 into klga(both screwed i might add ;-) ) 3. Whats your typical flight time per session.usually i'm doing about 3 hrs a session, but i do have the odd 14 hr flight in my log,and also two times a 21 hr marathon session.from the above hours,786 were flown solely on the DC8,by far my favourite, despite having payware models as the df 737 and pic 767.the remainder was used by milton's dash 7 and aerocommander.
