Even if I had the money, I wouldnt know how to put all that stuff together. Im always amazed at the engineering skill of the folks who do manage to build their own sims.

I've been playing around with the IRIS T-6 Texan II lately and the head pan rate is waaaaay toooo sloooow. How can I adjust it to something more fluid?

I have FSX and am frustrated with the issues of FPS because my preferred sim style is military low and fast. I am going to switch I think to P3D

I have an X-55 HOTAS and its a tricky rig sometimes. If all looks well in the madcatz software for configuring, then go to FSX and check your throttle settings. Make sure your throttle sensitivity is set above 100 at least. On the throttle, I would put zero deadzone on either the madcatz tool or FSX.

The answer to this is that there are AB textures and an effect built into the model. You have to have your throttle sensitivity set above 100 to get the AB to engage properly though. Change this in the settings portion of FSX itself.

You are right. There are a lot of AB related textures. I did change the Afterburner_Available = 5 to 1. No difference. I am wondering if this is a bug now. Eric

Yep, I tested those. They dont work on Dino's latest model. Dino has the lights hard coded into the mdl file. I am really looking for a true effects file.

Hmm. I have the very latest version of the F-14D installed and this is whats in the lights section of my aircraft.cfg These are apparently default values. Do you recall where you got the effects you have and if they work with this very latest build? Frankly I am a little surprised Dino didnt include AB effects with the aircraft. The F-14 has fairly spectacular burners. Hi Guys, can somebody point me to a working afterburner effect for Dino Cattaneo's awesome (awesome) F-14 Tomcat? I know there is one for earlier versions, but I couldnt get it to work on this latest build. Anybody got any recommendations? Thanks Eric

The FTX Vectors AEC tool will fix this problem to a degree, but only with default scenery, not 3rd party mesh.

I have the Pilots FS Global 2010FTX and Its awesome in my opinion. I run much of the Orbx/FTX stuff including land class files and the airport on a slab thing bugs me to a degree, but not THAT much. I do wish there was some kind of fix to this. The Pilots manual refers to creation of an interim layer of scenery to smooth out the gradiants, which would work well with me, but I am not sure how to do this.

Virtavia has one that looks nice, but they want over $42.00 USD for it. Thats a lot of money for the scooter. Razbam to my mind has always been kind of the A-4 default answer, but not sure they have a FSX variant? Whats the best Skyhawk? I am in a century series kinda mode right now and the Navy part of me wants a scooter. Eric

Nerds... I am still chasing a consistent 35 FPS after 15 years, 2 FS versions, and 3 PC's including this one that has i7-4770k, NV650 GTX vcard, 3 Tb of HD and 32 GB of SDram.

First of all, Steam is an online gaming platform. For those of us who also enjoy Train Sim, this has been the way it works for a couple years at least. You buy a license and the content downloads to your PC. Works pretty well in my opinion. TS doesnt require all the video tweaks etc, of FSX, so we will see how well it works there. I probably will not use this method since I have it all already installed. however, I dont currently use XPlane and it is also going the way of Steam. I MAY try Xplane this way, since I have no current investment in it.

Well, you made some $$ investment, so its good to realize it coming online. Second ,you will NOT be unhappy wiht those purchases. both are game changers. Seriously. Now couple that with the Pilots mesh and you are in BUSINESS. I cant wait for Orbx/FTX to develop North America.
