November 16, 200322 yr Hi, i wonder if anyone knows why FS2004 sometimes crashes to the desktop when loading a flight? It will always happen at 52/53% and no error messages are displayed. All the flights have been in western europe and the only europe-wide scenery i have is LAGO's terramesh. The crashes don't happen always but about 1 in every 3 tries. Thanks, Mark
November 17, 200322 yr If you have recently tried a file called railroadsu.zip, this may be your problem. At least it was for me. Had the same problem when I tried this file, I had to replace with my backup until a version two called railrdv2_128359.zip, was released.Hope this helps. Robin
November 17, 200322 yr I too have recently encountered this problem. I never had it happen before. Then I got a new machine and installed FS 2004 and get these crashes without having added any add-ons whatsoever yet. I'm puzzled by this too and hope that someone may have some insights as to what's going on to cause this problem. Robert Chartoff
November 17, 200322 yr Well i did have that file, and i changed it. And it certainly seems more stable now, but i did still get one CTD when checking out a new scenery of LFPN (Toussus le noble, france). So that might be an airport scenery problem. Thanks for the tip!Mark

I've had this happen before. It loads up the terrain then crashes just before "Adjusting Scenery objects".There are two possibilities - addon landclass or a default file called "seasons.bgl".Solution 1. Turn off addon landclass folders in your scenery library.Solution 2. Change the date at the problematic airports. I posted a problem earlier regarding a problem at Andoya AB, Norway. Apparently it turns out that there are some bad seasons codes between 21st October and the 21st November. It works fine at other times.Try these, hopefully they'll work. It seems that there's a rash of Crash to Desktop problems around this time so solution 2 may well be the likiest workaround.Hope this helps
