November 16, 200322 yr Most times when I fly the PMDG 737 & land, I am told to contact ground. I do - expecting to get an option to taxi to the gate for parking (at which I would usually turn on the progressive taxi option). Most times when I land, I get this annoying option that says - "Taxi for Takeoff Options". Then if I want to contact ground after landing, I get all these options for taking off again. The 8th one is on that says, "Taxi to parking options.." But when I press this, it only takes me right back to all the options on Taking off again. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? After ATC clears me for landing, & then I acknowledge this, & then I indeed land, all I want to do is get my clearance to from ground to taxi to park. I am rarely ever offered this option. I have tried stopping on the runway first. I have tried clearing the runway first, then contacting ground, etc. Nothing seems to work. I am getting very frustrated with this one small problem. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks.Chris Catalano
November 17, 200322 yr I'm not sure whether this is a bug or not; I've never had the problem. I do know that you must exit the runway completely then contact ground for options. Also, if the gates are full, you won't have an option for a gate and maybe parking. It just depends on how much traffic and especially if you're using add-on AI with flight plans (like Ultimate Traffic). Other than that, I'm not sure.Good Luck,Chris - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired
November 17, 200322 yr Not having a taxi to gate options doesnt have anything to do with the aircraft in itself. It just means that the airport is full and no gates are available. For testing, try to put AI to 0% then do the same landing, Im sure there will be a taxi to gate options.Only solution other then no traffic is to edit the airport or use a premade one for that perticular airport using AFCAD2Hope this helps :)
November 17, 200322 yr That is exactly correct. There isn't any gates available.....they're all used up by the AI planes......so you don't get the option. But you're actually rather lucky. At least you're able to taxi off the active and park where you want. If you were an AI airplane, you'd just DISAPPEAR. These poor AI planes....sometimes I wonder what dimension they disappear to. All those poor souls trapped in the 4th dimension, just because there was no parking available when they landed.:-)
November 17, 200322 yr LOL Here Too !Good post / answer. Had same question.Ok, if we use AFCAD to create more parking spaces, will the "taxi-to-gate" option more likely show available parking ?I find this taxi-for-takeoff option appearing more frequently at he moderate / small size airfields. Using only FS9's AI traffic, set at 95, I usually find gate positions open at the larger.....Ron
November 17, 200322 yr >>Ok, if we use AFCAD to create more parking spaces, will the "taxi-to-gate" option more likely show available parking >>It will, if you say for instance create several areas of parking i.e. SW Parking, NE Parking and so on. These options are available inside AFCAD both 2002 and 2004 version :)There will only be 1 option for the gates however. So all cargo parking for example would be taxi to parking.
November 17, 200322 yr Is it possible to send me a link to that program (AFCAD2) in the library? I can't sem to find it.Thanks!Chris Catalano
November 17, 200322 yr Here you go:Since I dont know if you are using FS9 or FS2002:For FS9 ONLY: http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Search...=Root&Go=SearchFor FS2002: filename is afcad140.zipEspecially the FS9 version got an excellent help file included if you feel lost, and it looks a bit overwhelming at first but one gets the hang of it pretty quick :)
