Livery problem For SGA DC-10-30F

Featured Replies

Shalom and greetings all my pals,I have been flying amazing and wonderful SGA DC-10-30 and freighter version without problem using many wonderful liveries that load into FSX without problems.I just downloaded new livery Arrow Cargo Air in cool lime green color for SGA DC-10 and it came out extremely bright and too glossy appearance. Is there anything I can do to correct this please? If more info on this texture is needed, it is as seen below:FS2004 Arrow Cargo Douglas DC-10-30F[ Download | View ]Name: dc-10-30f_arrow_cargo_sga.zip Size: 4,693,716 Date: 11-29-2010 Downloads: 804FS2004 Arrow Cargo Douglas DC-10-30F, registration N478CT. Includes SGA model. Painting by Erick Ayala Corona. Here is screenshot:arrow.jpgThere is no other Arrow Cargo livery for SGA DC-10F.Thanks, Aharon

Using liveries originally made for FS9 in FSX sometimes can be problematic. As FSX handles aplha layers quiet different from FS9 , many FS9 models are far to glossy when implemented in FSX.Adjusting the alpha layers might be a solution in this case.Open the texturefiles in DXTBmp >>> export the alpha layers to your painting-program>>> enlighten the alpha layers ( make them less dark )>> import them back in DXTBmp>> and save the files.Just give it a try with just one fuselage-texturefile ( make sure to back-up the original first! )I did not succeed in finding the files you mentioned above, so I could not have a look at them myself.Leen de Jager

Leen,Thanks:):) You are right. Somebody on internet fixed for me and the problem is solved!! He said that the main cause for this problem is that the alpha is completely black. Aharon

Leen,I understand what you mean. I got answer at 10:30 pm before I went to bed. Then I went to bed. While I was sleeping, you posted reply at 02:40 AM. Next morning at 9 am, I posted in few aviation forums including Avsim letting all know that the problem had been solved with explanation of black problem. Then I went to work form 9 am to 6 pm and came back home to post more posts on other more forums letting them know.In other words, I was doing best within span of 12 hours to let all websites know that the problem is solved .I know what you mean but it is not case. It is just time zone difference plus I was sleeping during night and 9 to 6 workday at office. That is why you will notice I posted reply at about 9am letting Avsim forums and you know the problem had been solved.Aharon

"I got answer at 10:30 pm before I went to bed. Then I went to bed".Better reply instantly , you would have been in bed only five minutes later and there would have been no need for me to answer.Kind regardsLeen

Leen,The answer came through Blackberry, not website and not computer before I went to bed. I would need lots of time to do posting on about eight aviation websites. I did let all aviation forums know when I woke up next am.Aharon
