Problem flying Miltons' AeroCommander 520

Featured Replies

I know that I must be missing something -- it's a bit like those people who failed to read Olekseys' Dash8 manual and didn't unlock the throttle lock -- but I can't get Miltons' Aerocommander 520 off the ground. The engine RPMs fail to run up to anything near the figures quoted in the manual. I must have some brake on somewhere -- but can't figure it!!HELP!!! :)Barry

hi,try control-shift-f4 when the engine is running...or press the . key to unlock the parkingbrake, and maybe its a good idea to loosen that chain a bit,so it can move ;-)then again, your throttle might be badly calibrated,or the parkingbrake has frozen, the brakesystem has no pressure because you forgot to fill up the tank...man i could go on and on and on,but, sadly,i must admit i have absolutely no clue what-so-ever...this is like the:"my car does not start mister garageman" .... "ah miss Kournikova,it doesn't?...what does it do?"......"it just won't start" kinda question.regards

Hi Barry,Shoot me an email with a screenshot of the panel while you are experiencing this. I'll see if I can help figure this out. If there is an issue here for all to know, we can then post the solution.I have had no reports of this however.MiltonEDIT: acdesign{spamkiller}@flightsimonline.com

Milton -- I am a REAL Goose!!!!! :(I have been happily flying your AeroCommander 520 all week and then I started to play around with the NAMC YS-11( which is an obviously more complex A/C) - learning how to get it going. . It is THAT one that I am having trouble with - not yours!! :( Sometimes I do wonder just how easy it is to recognise early onset of Alzheimers!! I must have had your 520 "on the brain" when I posted my problem.I'd really like to thank you - not only for your freeware -- but the way in which you respond to questions about them in this forum..C"MON EVERYBODY __ 3 CHEERS FOR MILTON!! :)Barry

Hit the methanol injection for added power on take off and be careful not to firewall the throttle or your engines will burn out right about Vr.BTW, I know I should love that plane, but I find it kind of a pain in the --- to fly.CheersBlair

>BTW, I know I should love that plane, but I find it kind of a pain in the --- to fly.In what way do you mean that? I am enjoying it quite a bit now -- but am finding that the elevator trim is overly sensitive and this makes it a little hard to fly by hand. Also BTW - I think the reason I was having trouble getting it going was that I was applying throttle too quickly on takeoff - before the engine torque built up - and consequently was triggering the autofeather system on takeoff.Barry
