Anybody using 9800 XT ?

Featured Replies

Is anybody using the 9800 XT with FS9? I read that a few people had the flashing screen problem with this card and the Catalyst 3.9 drivers.I can't imagine why the 3.9 drivers wouldn't help the XT users.

Never had a problem with the v3.9's. I did try the Omega's and I have stuck with them. Image quality is far better and no decrease in performance.Do you have a 9800XT with trouble?Jay

A friend of mine has one. No more flashing screen and menus with official Cat 3.9. He has told me today that he found a new Catalyst without version number (file version is 7-95.4.031101m, and the official is 7-95.4-031028m), WHQL certified from 28/10, the official was late september( these dates are driver date, not WHQL date), and he likes a lot.(of course without flashing menus)This Cat is not the new beta (not WHQL) that ATI has released today , and supossely new Cat 3.10, when they get WHQL certification. He found this at http://www.station-drivers.com

Thanks! I'm about to buy a new computer and the 9800 XT was the ATI card they had. That's fine with me, but then I read of a couple of people with problems. It doesn't seem universal so I think I'll pick one up.
