March 26, 201115 yr Hi,I have a strange problem. Noticed it a couple of days ago when I wanted to do a flight with my PMDG MD11 (FS2004). flight preparation went well and take-off too. But then shortly after take-off she starts banking to the left and flying 360's. This even happens with autoflight on. Anyone outhere with an idea what is causing this problem and how to cure it? Maybe it is not a pure PMDG MD11 problem. I also have the ifly 737, when i load this bird then the horn is to the left. When load her again then everything is fine. Strange. Any help is highly appreciated. NorbertMy system spec:Intel Core 2Duo E6850 3.00 GHzNVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512Windows XP Professional SP3Directx 9.0c
March 28, 201115 yr Hi Norbert,First of all, make sure that when FSX loads up, the Cessna 172 is displayed, and that the aircraft location is one of the default airports. If your default flight is something OTHER than the Cessna 172 at a default airport, strange things can happen.Assuming the above is all as it should be, we'll need to see some screenshots I think. Can you start the aircraft up, and get the engines running. Then open the CONFIG page and take a screen shot of that for us. Proceed with a takeoff and as soon as the aircraft starts to misbehave, take a screenshot of the main instrumentation (i.e. the PFD and ND screens) and post them here. We'll hopefully be able to sort you out.Last but not least, I know it's a bit picky of me, but PMDG asks members to use their full names (given and family name) in posts.Looking forward to helping you out! April 3, 201115 yr Hi all, thank you for your replies. I tried the thing with the default airport but this didn't do the trick. I am following now Marks suggestions and uload a couple of screen shots showing what the problem is. The situation is: MD11F with PW engines ready for T/O in EDDF Rwy 18, dest. EDDH, route programmed into FMC, no add-on like AES active. First PIC shows A/C on the ground, 2 & 3 right after lift-off.Thank you for your efforts.Norbert LohrSorry forgot the one on the ground. Here it is.
April 4, 201115 yr Norbert, in these images are you applying any control input yourself? The aircraft is rolling left and I see control inputs to the right. Is that you trying to keep the wings level? Mark Adeane - NZWN
April 4, 201115 yr Your flight plan shows a left turn and the plane appears to be trying to follow it. The only odd thing I see is that you are well over target speed and you still have flaps 22. Can you take a shot from later in the flight when the plane is turning when it shouldn't be. Paul Smith.
April 4, 201115 yr Hi Norbert - First I have heard of having the Cesna as default at defaul airport. What are the default airports? Thanks,Steve Trish
April 4, 201115 yr Hi Norbert - First I have heard of having the Cesna as default at defaul airport. What are the default airports? Thanks,Steve TrishSteve,When FSX (or FS9) loads up to the flight menu you see a Cessna 172 displayed and the airport selection is one of the default airports. From there, of course, you pick your airplane and location etc and start the flight. If your 'default flight' is changed to an add-on aircraft, this can sometimes cause issues with other add-ons. It's not a specific fix to a specific problem in THIS case, but anytime an add-on aircraft is exhibiting strange behaviour it is good practice to eliminate anything that might be contributing to the problem.I'm not sure that Norberts issue is related to the flight plan calling for a left turn, because unless the auotpilot is engaged the aircraft should just do what it's told! Once Norbert replies to the message I left above, we'll see if we can solve the problem. Mark Adeane - NZWN
April 9, 201115 yr First of all thank you all for your replies and comments. Secondly I want to apologize for my late responses. But due to time constraints I only have time at the weekend to check my mails and stuff like this.@marakdane: yes you are right. I am trying to keep the wings level. It is true that the FP shows a left turn but the A/C starts banking left right after lift-off and far too early for the FP left turn. And I am handflying so the A/C should follow only my inputs.ThanksNorbert Lohr

Check the configuration software for your joystick/yoke and see if it is showing as centred when you aren't touching it. Short of having a HUGE fuel imbalance in one wing tank, I'm not aware of anything that could even possibly cause this behaviour. Mark Adeane - NZWN
April 22, 201115 yr Hi all, thank you for all your efforts to help me with my problem. As I couldn't find a solution I choose to do a complete reinstall of MS FS 2004. It was a lot of work but now everything works as it should and I can enjoy flying my PMDG MD11.Happy Easter to all of you.Norbert Lohr
