March 30, 201115 yr Hey Guys,I have been researching all over the place to see if I can solve this problem I've got, but it seems to not want to go away. I've invested into a computer with the following specs.Amd Phenom II X4 905e Processor, MMX, 4CPU @ 2.5GHZ4gigs of ram GTX 460SE500gig hard drive700W MOD-X Stream PRO PSUI'm running nvidia inspector and have set up the settings to the following picture attached.I've maxed everything out in fs with frames locked to 33, and more times than not my frames hover around 20. It looks great, but performance isn't so great. The ironic part being that no matter how much i decrease the display settings (everything from scenery, to cloud coverage, to display resolutions, etc), the frames are still in the low 20's. Therefore I'm assuming it must be something else.My current graphic drivers are 266.58 being the recent ones for the 460 from the nvidia website.Would appreciate your help!
March 30, 201115 yr Maybe your CPU is just too weak. Mine is also just a bit better. I have mine clocked to 3 GHz and it gave me a big performance boost. Maybe you can try to overclock your CPU or get a better CPU like I will do in the nearer future. Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
March 30, 201115 yr No, but you need to overclock it, and have a look at your NV Inspector settings, i.e. Transparency and AA, turn off and down...Single- or Multi display? Check the setting...Try Vsync "Force On""4 Gigs of Ram" - what Ram?Have you tuned and set-up your system?Google NickN, Simforums and Bojote, Avsim.
March 30, 201115 yr Author My Ram is DDr3 @ 667MHZ by Corsair.Right now it's on multi display, but I only run one monitor. Should I set it to single then?I searched those guys, what is it I am supposed to be tuning on my system? Thanks!
March 30, 201115 yr Yes, set it to single...RAM looks ok.Tuning thread:http://www.simforums...187.html#198187Bojotes Tweaking Tool:http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.htmlBut the most important is turning up your CPU speed...
March 30, 201115 yr Author What speed would you recommend? Where do I go to overclock my AMD cpu? Something on AMD website?
March 30, 201115 yr I had an AMD CPU a few years ago, but def. not an expert!Have a look here:http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/showthread.php?t=323438- and herehttp://game.amd.com/es-es/drivers_overdrive.aspx
March 30, 201115 yr I did a benchmark and got the following scores. Is the CPU the problem? Well, I can´t comment on this results cuase I don´t use 3DMark. You could maybe download cinebench 2011 from here and share your results so that I can compare them with mine. What grafic card do you use? It could be another possible bottelneck next to your CPU. Best regards, Steffen Fight time: NGX 737-700: 37,0h; -800: 47,2h
March 30, 201115 yr For reference, a score of a little less than 4000 is the score my E8400 got at 4.0ghz. So overclocking should give you some benefit
