FSX Payware Aircraft

Featured Replies

Hi all...I have been flying FS since 1986 with FS1, then FS3, FS4 on. (I still have that FS1 blue labelled floppy in front of me). I still have many of those early scenery disks, including hundreds of those early FS charts of the US and Europe. (I always wondered why they were called 'scenery disks' when all they had were VORs & runways - I recall feeling a little let down at the time). I also have a number of the Aerad volumes for the UK & Europe, and lots of RW charts, so I'm relatively experienced at flying FS.Recently I have enjoyed flying a couple of 'Ex-payware' GA aircraft, the now freeware JF Archer, and the freeware Commercial Level Simulations Piper Arrow II around my EGOW scenery. (in the library). I also fly the default 737/Airbus/747s to Europe on a regular basis, with FS Commander FPs/moving map on my second monitor.I am now looking seriously at the current payware aircraft scene.I like a certain level of reality. I really would enjoy a 'real world' startup on occasions, and at other times when I have less time to spare, I would prefer to be able to resume a flight mid way, or reload an approach to Innsbruck for example ?..but I cannot find any reference to what I want to know - is it possible to 'reset' or save flight parameters at any stage of the flight - or do you have to start up 'Cold & dark' every time ?I often create my own FP using Aerad charts in the form of a text file, or download a RW FP from the Real World Flightplan Database:http://www.edi-gla.co.uk/fpl/I often paste and edit these FPs into FSC (I fly to UK or European destinations most of the time, so I'm really looking forward to the PMDG 737 NGX for my short or medium range trips).I'm looking at the Level-D 767 for FSX.Would this 'Copy & paste' still be possible with these complex aircraft - importing a RW FP, or using FSC to 'transfer' a FP to the FMC on these aircraft ? Do these FMCs permit text based FPs to be imported ? Do they permit saving FPs or the current 'Flight state' for resuming that flight at a later date ? (I'm aware of FSC's limitations re its lack of connection with some payware a/c like the PMDG 747 that do not use the FSX AP).Specifically, can I resume a flight in the Level-D 767 by loading up a flight or reloading the FMS 'mid flight' ?Complexity doesn't scare me, but I would also like that 'Quick Startup' (but detailed) flight on occasions or to continue a flight occasionally after having to cut short a session when commanded by my 'Co-Pilot' (She who must be obeyed). I'm sorry, but domestic bliss has a higher priority (most of the time) than FS in my household. Thanks !Bill CusickFormby, UK0.9nm SW R03 EGOWCore 2 Duo E6700 2.67GHzScythe Infinity CPU CoolerAsus P5B Deluxe MotherboardCorsair XMS2-6400 C4 TwinX PC2-6400 4GB Dual Channel InterleavedAsus ENGTS450 1Gb with Forceware v189.50 driversSamsung SH-W183 18x18 DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter2 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 500GB SATA-IISB X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS EditionEnermax Liberty 620W PSU ATX 2.2Lian Li PC-S80B Black Aluminium CaseThree 120mm FansVista Home Premium 64-Bit OEMDell 2408WFP 24" LCD monitorViewsonic VA1916w MonitorATEN VS-461 4 port DVI SwitchCH Yoke & PedalsFSX SP2FSX SDKBojote's FSX Tweaked/Tuned FSX.CFG 04.01.2011FS Commander 9.0AOR AR8200 Wide Range Receiver for 'Live' ATC..and Spider MP3 playing software with ATC MP3 recordingsfor 'A rainy day' when there's no local flying....

I've never used FSCommander so I don't know what it's exporting limitations are. If you use the product a lot you should already know if it has the ability to export a flightplan into certain payware aircraft.I know for a fact that FSBuild allows exporting a flightplan into the LVLD 767 as a text file with a .rte format, which looks like this if you open it in Notepad++ :
;Flight Plan Generated by Fsbuild 2.3 KDEN-KORDH,KDEN,KORD, ,W,DEN,PLAIN4,30,39.812600,-104.660700,117.900000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,EEONS,PLAIN4,30,40.021500,-103.769800,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,AKO,PLAIN4,30,40.155700,-103.179800,114.400000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,ASHBY,PLAIN4,30,40.317300,-102.001500,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,HCT,PLAIN4,30,40.454000,-100.923400,117.700000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,FOD,,0,42.611200,-94.294800,113.500000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,VIGGR,J94,30,42.555100,-93.124000,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,DBQ,J94,30,42.401500,-90.709000,115.800000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,JVL,,0,42.557900,-89.105100,114.300000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,BULLZ,,0,42.457600,-88.771200,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,TEDDY,BULLZ1,30,42.419500,-88.646200,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,KRENA,BULLZ1,30,42.374800,-88.499500,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,COGSS,BULLZ1,30,42.344300,-88.394800,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,TREKI,BULLZ1,30,42.300900,-88.268200,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,SOOLU,BULLZ1,30,42.196200,-88.147600,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,KURKK,BULLZ1,30,42.091800,-88.027000,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,VULCN,BULLZ1,30,42.091800,-87.794300,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,HIMGO,BULLZ1,30,42.090900,-87.508700,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0W,LOMEZ,BULLZ1,30,42.089500,-87.137600,0.000000,0.000000,0,0,0,0End of FlightPlan

Yes LVLD offers this feature. And yes you can save flightplans in the FMC for later use. It saves them to the CO ROUTE. You can also save panel states.

What do you mean by quick startup? The engines? Setting up the cockpit? IRS alignment? The FMC is utilized by every flight, so you can't skip setting that up unless you want to fly blind without any navigational references. IRS alignment can be changed in settings to an instant alignment or realistic alignment (about 10 minutes).Engines have to be started using proper duct pressure and pack usage. Not sure if you can just push CTRL E, but you really don't need to.I can get the LVLD 767 configured FMC and all in the 10 minutes it takes for a real time IRS alignment. It really doesn't take that long once you're familiar with the startup procedures.Alternately you could probably find some saved panel states for download somewhere that would already have a configured cockpit ready for engine start (minus FMC setup).I use FS2Crew and they include a panel state simulating engineers already having pre-configured the overhead for the pilots' own cockpit prep.I'm sure a fully configured overhead panel state exists out there somewhere.

Hi Halcyon..Thank you kindly, Sir for your detailed response.<<'Yes LVLD offers this feature. And yes you can save flightplans in the FMC for later use. It saves them to the CO ROUTE.
