November 23, 200322 yr I installed Captain Sim 727 and P M Stone's 747 and when I change views on these aircraft I immediately get continous static (quite loud). This is on FS2004. Any ideas? RegardsRaymond
November 24, 200322 yr Hi Raymond,First of all weolcome to the forum (ok its allready your 2nd post :-) )What do you mean with static? Could you please specify it a bit more?Wolfgang
November 24, 200322 yr Raymond,Do you have the Soundblaster Live!5.1 card? If yes, that is probably your problem. Various 3rd party panels have this. I have it on the Ariane Analog panel but fixed it by never loading the overhead panel. Also the new 737NG $9.95 panel has it but got around it by commenting out the GPWS gauge. Some forums have indicated this problem with PSS Dash-8 and others. At least one person reported the problem gone after upgrade to the Audigy 2 card. I am going to do that this week but probably to the Turtle Beach card. There is a couple of patches out there I tried but did not work for me. Do a google search for VIA Latency. Also tried a patch to turn off Turbo mode on the Live!5.1 but no joy there. If none is this applies, sorry about that. No ideas.Phill>I installed Captain Sim 727 and P M Stone's 747 and when I>change views on these aircraft I immediately get continous>static (quite loud). This is on FS2004. November 24, 200322 yr >What do you mean with static? Typically, I can load up an IFR from anywhere to anywhere, get my clearance, start taxi to the active and then hit the switch view (cycle to VC, tower, spot, and back to 2d). Usually - but not always - starts when going to tower view and is aggravated if occurring at the very moment ATC starts a message. The static is so loud you can not understand ATC at all. Sometimes pressing the Q key twice to turn sound off and then back on will clear it but only till the next time you switch views. When I got my Dell 8200, decided the cheaper sound card should be OK. So I saved a few bucks. At least for a while... :)Phill Roath
