April 3, 201115 yr I have been browsing looking for a laptop cooler for my Dell XPS M1730. I am going to revert to using it (temporarily) for FS9, and it can run a bit warm. To make matters 'worse' I am just about to move to hot, sticky Thailand for my job (which is why I am taking FS9 on my laptop, until my main FS PC is shipped out in a few months)- so, although I am sure my accommodation will have at least one a/c room where I can use the laptop, a cooler would be a good idea too. I already have a small cheap one, but it's not going to be up to the job.So I wonder if anyone using a large gaming laptop for FS has a recommendation? Obviously needs to be good for this size and weight of notebook, and needs to 'work' - I've read a number of reviews of coolers that look good but at the end of the day don't seem to cool the laptop much! Also, with other expenses I'd rather keep the price reasonable - I don't want to pay £40, £50 sterling ... there are plenty for under £20 on Amazon.co.uk with good reviews, but I'd be grateful for input from here,Thanks,Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
April 4, 201115 yr Here´s a useful link, I hope...http://notebook-cooling.com/- and one more, selfhelp!http://forum.noteboo...ook-cooler.html- and these:http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gaming-notebook-forum/509970-what-laptop-cooler-if-any-people-using.htmlhttp://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gaming-notebook-forum/516129-g73-notebook-cooler.htmlI live in Bangkok, and it´s hot, and in 2-3 months it will get humid too with degrees around 32-36 C., so you def. need a cooler. You can buy it here, and probably save some money.Panthip Plaza or Fortune Town are the places to go shopping:http://www.thaivisa....ctronic-stores/Good luck and enjoy your stay in the Land of Smiles!
April 4, 201115 yr Author Thanks for the reply and links - and the good wishes! Yes, I will be in Bangkok, working in (or near, not sure now) Siam Square. I think that you are probably right that I should wait and buy something when I get to BKK. Can't say I enjoy the heat and humidity, but have spent many years in India, so am not exactly 'unused' to it. Probably preferable to the miserable winter climate in the UK.. (it's just starting to get better, with some sun, but last year (or was it the year before?) it snowed in April!!).Martin :-) Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
