Temps and vid card

Featured Replies

Hello folks out there , i have just updated my system as updated my wallet could afford. W7 Ultimate 64 bit i7 2600k . Corsair Watercooled H60 Gigabyte P67A-UD3-B3 Patriot 1600 DDr3 8 gig x 4 sticks PNY GTXb 285 1024 Mem Vid Card 1.320 Terra Hard drives Antec 650 Watt PS Got everything updated , and downloaded CPU-Z Core speed .........1596.3 @ temps of 31c all cores . at 3.4GHz temps will be around 51c. Core voltages are 1.05 v. are those normal temps for this set up , i will be using my com solely for flight simming. i believe that my system throttles down to save energy, so if i was to turn this feature off ( if you can ). that would mean that my running temps will be around the 49 , 50 c range , and are those acceptable temps to be running at. Also i have another question about my vid card , right now im running PNY GTX 285 1924 in my Primary PCIe slot , and im wanting to install in the secondary PCIe slot my GTX 9800 vid card.this Gigabyte board does not support SLI , but i heard somewhere that you could use the secondary card for PHSX , or some other apps .i use my computer for simming only.so is that possible.Thanks...........Robert

Hi,I cannot answer your question on the video card but do not use CPUZ for temps or volts. Instead use the Easy Tune6 program from Gigabyte for volts and use CoreTemp for temps. for your stated voltage and speed. My temps 1.35v 4.5GHz and 37c no load 65c full load. You can disable the throttle by setting volts and speed manually in the bios.
