Hi All, is the Aerosim L-1011 VC functional enough to operate complete flights from the VC? (engine start, Anti ice etc.)Is the overhead panel functional or just a bitmap? how is the flight model?thanksStan

There's a comprehensive review of the Aerosim L1011 here on Avsim (look under "2009"), but as someone who's had the plane for a few years, I can confirm that flights may definitely be completed from the VC. The two other planes in the package (DC-8 and DC-10) are pretty basic, but the L1011 is well-executed. Most of the overhead and FE's panel are not functional, but some features like anti-ice and pitot heat are available. There's also a nice representation of the L1011's unique FMC/INS navigation system, and functional VNAV/LNAV/Autoland in the autopilot. External model is the best one available for FS. If I had to sum it up, I'd say it's a light simulation with hints of heavy sprinkled here and there, and very enjoyable for TriStar fans.
