Suggestion for HW forum posters

Featured Replies

Hello Hardware enthusiasts,I wonder if it would be a good idea for posters in this forum to put their specs in their signature. I think it could be hepful when trying to help a poster or make a suggestion on a setting. It could also help in comparing different systems with our own.Just an idea.

lol..I guess we picked a popular setup.I'm priming 4.7 now and it seems fine after 2 hours, with max temp of 66 in core 3. I think my vcore in Bios is 1.365, but CPUZ mostly shows 1.36 while priming. What's your voltage for 4.8?

Yes, indeed we did!Been @ 4.8 a few days now, but not too comfy with the temps, peak 78 C with Prime95...Voltage in the range of 1.38 to 1.408I use CPU Offset Voltage @ 0.060+CPU Current Cap.: 130%LLC: HighVRM Fixed: 370Phase Control: ExtremeDuty Control: Extreme

I'm tempted by the offset mode, but I read it can be a bit tricky. As for the other settings we have the same, except for LLC, which I seem to have to put at Ultra High, or it crashes in seconds in P95. Those temps would worry me as well, I'm OK with load temps of high 60 or maybe very low 70, but higher than this it doesn't seem to be worth the extra 100hz.I'll try to get 4.8 to be stable, but if it requires too big a jump in vcore I'll be happy with 4.7.Oh yeah, I lowered my RAM to 1333 from 1600, and it makes the sytem quite a bit more stable under prime. Is it something I should consider leaving it at? Would FSX benefit from 1600 more than 1333?

I've been doing it for a long time and I think it's a great idea. That's how I was able to build the system I currently own.Best regards,Jim

@Richard: Yeah, I may have to go back @ 4.7, or buy a better cooler!I dont think the extra 100 Mhz are that important, but I like to have 4.8 in my sig. rolleyes.gifNot sure about the change from 1600 to 1333, I read somewhere that low timing is what FSX wants...Couldn´t find CL6 Ripjaws or Mushkin Redline here in Bangkok, but I guess 1600 Mhz 7-8-7-24 are OK though..
