Anyone used the Vans Aircraft Co MD-8X aircraft?

Thinking of buying a few of them and wondering what people think? Thx!billg

Cool, thx Lee. I bought it and a livery pack. Had to give a phony zip code on the purchase screen because it only accepts 5 digit zips (I live in Canada and we have 6 digits) and had to enter a phony line for an address because you have to fill in both address fields (although I have only 1 line in my address.) So got through that after a few tries (it empties all the fields when you've made a "mistake") and then it sent me a user id and access code for both the livery and the model. Hehe, but when I go to the url it will only let me download the livery. Hmmm, have an email into tech support so hopefully will get to fly it sometime today....Still looking forward to it though, it's one of my favourite aircraft.billg

I'm sure you'll get it. I found a panel that's quite good with the Vans models. I think it's the one by Leon Seale called gsmd87. It's his re-work of the great Paul Golding panel. It's here on Avsim. I made some small fixes for it to work in FS9 and to add great wing views. When you get it, e-mail me and I'll send you the panel.cfg file.Lee

Hi,I bought it also and wrote a small review for simflight. The visual model ist exceptionally nice, lots of good animations (doors, stairs, wing flex, surfaces, gear...), friendly flight model... however i as no VC/cabin, no 2-D panel and no sounds.I love it!I suggest the FIDG panel, available here(?) and on fsnordic. This panel is astounding, lots of features including cockpit views, TCAS, HUD (switchable)... If You search avsim for Alitalia MD You will find another package of the FFX model with a good soundset, too (from which I used only the sounds).Happy flyingTorsten

wow, just got an email from them with all the info that I would need. Not bad for a thanksgiving thursday, for you american yahoos. Got the code, got the plane, and omg, it rocks. I'm happy. This is a steal for 15 bucks. Got the sound files from the ffx model, thx torsten. And that new md80 panel, hmmm, should give him credit, argh, brb, I'll check. Marco's panel. Rocking, omg, I'm so happy. Thx vanairco.com, hehe. Didn't think that i'd be talking them up last night, but this is a new day....billg
