April 25, 201115 yr Guys, does anyone have this mouse and could possibly test something for me?If I run Memtest, while the dongle is connected to the board, I usually, but not always, get a crash. If I disconnect the dongle, all is well. And I have two dongles, which would rule out a broken dongle. Also tried starting without a dongle, and then connecting while Memtest is running, and in 95% cases it would freeze.I never heard of mainboard and mouse incompatibility!!??
April 25, 201115 yr UPDATE:Saitek Throttle Quadrant + Logitech MX Revolution = Memtest crash. Each separately, no problems.
April 26, 201115 yr KostaIs there anything in device manager to see if there is an IRQ clash. That is under resources/devices by connection/type and is there a memory address clash? It would be interesting to see if diconnecting one or the other whilst in FSX gives a jump in fps or increases smoothness.Nothing else springs to mind.RegardsPeterH
April 26, 201115 yr Peter, thanks.I already went that way, with the knowledge from Windows95, but I knew it was in vein... the thing is, they are both flawlessly working in windows.Since my boot problem comes back only every now and then, totally randomly, I can't even disconnect and say "THIS is the cause". I can only guess and grab myself on the branches...
April 27, 201115 yr No issues here, Word Not Allowed: I have the MX Revolution, and think it's the worlds best mouse: the mobo is an ASUS P8P67 Deluxe. You ARE running the latest Logitech drivers, right? i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

You ARE running the latest Logitech drivers, right?Yeah, of course. But it has nothing to do with drivers as problems arose in the POST and Memtest.I have already been thinking if to get a Deluxe mainboard. I know two people alredy whose Deluxe is performing flawlessly apparently...
April 27, 201115 yr In the end, it doesn't really seem to be connected to either a hub, or specifically these two devices.Thing went like this: I tried to turn on on Sunday morning, a computer turned on - off - on... and then froze while booting into windows.First thing that came on my mind, run Memtest. Freeze.Alright, lets go looking for the problem:1) Disconnect ALL usb devices - problem gone2) Reconnect 2-3 devices, restart test - I found out that those two devices when connected both, Memtest froze. No matter if connected directly or over the hub. Then I thought, ok, bring the board back and exchange. It must be the board, what else... only other thought I had was either CPU or PSU.If CPU: maybe IMC fried, but why would sometimes work and Memtest+Linx generally stableIf PSU: how if it's generally working (wouldn't the problem come often if the PSU was faulty)Beside, the problem started with the new board, 2600K + GTX580... so I would generally say its the new hardware. Then I went to make SURE it's those two devices, I took my two soundscards and disconnected all SATA (6x total, one is a removable slot). And then, check this out: those two devices worked together!Alright I thought! Must be soundcards or SATA... reconnected drives... working... reinserted cards... Memtest STILL WORKING!!!Reconnected all my other USB devices, including hubs and whatever I found lying around to fill all HUB ports (2 hubs, 4x and 7x), and still Memtest without an error. Left it running for 2 hours, no errors. Now only thought I have is maybe a soundcard wasn't properly in the slot. But they *are* screwed in and pushed all the way. Also run Linx 4096mb for 3 hours now, again to make sure all is stable. So I'm quite baffled!I can't decide if to go to the shop and exchange the mainboard for deluxe, which is 40€ more... but for what... for a maybe it's going to be better? Maybe it's solved now? I won't know for sure, only way is to wait... and if I wait any longer, they won't exchange the board, of course.OH, and BTW: FSX IS WORKING LIKE A DREAM NOW!!! This computer with 5Ghz, BP=0 is gone, GTX580 OCed to 930, in Nvidia Inspector now running 8xS + 4x SGSS, and I'm getting..... wait for it...... around 20fps in the VC of PMDG 747 in heavy weather (Orbx Weather 5) taxiing around in UK2000 Heathrow V2. No AI. TML 4096, 4096 clouds and LOD 7.5. Running locked with external limiter at 30fps and it stays there outside of Heathrow.I call that a really well result. Graphics are amazing.
April 27, 201115 yr KostaGood to hear the results of your tests. Its a mystery.I did have a similar issue a while back I got intermittent boot problems with an external 1TB WD USB drive and an external eSata drive connected at the same time - remove one or the other and the boot was fine. I solved it by removing the USB drive and using an internal SATA drive instead.Ther was nothing in event viewer when looking at boot up events except to say that boot time was exceptionally long. The Reliability monitor did show an unspecific error/event but nothing I could identify. The Device manager looked normal. I tried several different BIOS settings to little effect.FSX on your rig sounds awesome. :Drooling: RegardsPeterH
