April 25, 201115 yr Hi, so I noticed that my motherboard came with shiny new 6gigs/sec SATA cables. So I put one in my HD, and when Windows booted up it installed the HD as a SCSI device. Does this make a difference or is everything good? my specs are in my signature. Thanks Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
April 25, 201115 yr There's nothing special in those cables. Only the sleeving / color scheme are different, so that you know what's connected to 6Gbps ports, that's all, internally they're the same as SATA II ones
April 25, 201115 yr Author I see. Also, to add to this, I was browsing the tech forums and Windows XP, Vista, and 7 will all detect the 6gb port as SCSI, because the port itself is made by marvell, I installed the drivers and everything is fine, FSX runs like a dream.
