Friend's new PC beep code help

Featured Replies

My friend built a new PC, with the MSI H67MA-E35 (B3) board (socket ll55), with AMI biosi3 2100 CPURAM is DDR3 1333 kingston hyper x cas 9 1.5v ratedThe PC boots into Windows fine but at post he's receiving 1 long beep followed by 3 short beeps. I told him I thought it was memory issues. He reseated the two stick of ram, tried with only one stick - no changes.Like I said it boots and runs fine, just the beeps. He also mentioned some codes (two digit) like A3 or something while in POST.In BIOS the ram is set to auto, but there is not an option for 1.5v, only 1.35, 1.6 and 1.8. The RAM is rated at 1.5 I checked the specs online. In Windows, with the "control center instant OC" program he can force it to 1.5v. He also recently flashed his bios to the latest. What's really confusing me is (other than the beeps), why won't his bios allow him to enter 1.5v for the dram setting??? And of course, any guesses on the beeps? I found this article by PCHell stating the AMI bios 1 by 3 short beeps is a memory issue as well.http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml#ami
