April 30, 201115 yr HelloI can run fsx ok i guess but i want to try get more better performance out of it i avrage around 30fps (externally locked) but terrible graffics (due to 4870). I plan on upgrading from stock cooling to either the A70 or H70.I've only ever taken it to 3.2ghz using Turbo-V but intent on properly overclocking when cooling upgraded. My current build as follows:CPU: Intel Core i7 920 @ stock MOBO: Asus P6T SE Intel X58GPU: XFX ATI Radeon 4870 1GBRAM: 6GB Patriot Viper X DDR3-1600PSU: XFX Black Edition 850 Watt Power supplyCASE: Antec 300
April 30, 201115 yr Well basicly any advice anyone can give me to get better performance out of my build?I'm going to order a GTX 560TI next week
April 30, 201115 yr I'd overclock the CPU...On another note, have the H50 from corsair and its great for keeping it cool... Rónán O Cadhain.
April 30, 201115 yr Hey Ronan thanks for the reply yeah i've been looking at the H50 today at my local novatech store.
April 30, 201115 yr Hi Simon,Since u didn't post ur budget. Here is my suggestion as I also have an i7 920. my specs are just below. *IF* you feel comfortable with overclocking I suggest u go ahead, BUT get a decent cooler first and make sure your system is running stable before beginning. I've been able to hit 4200mhz with mine and I might even be able to go higher. Right now it tops at 70C under max load. Idle's at 40C and that's with PWM fans running 30% (they will spin faster the hotter it gets)If you have can get an nVidia based card. Also run *******' CFG tweak file system. April 30, 201115 yr Hey Martini'm going to order a GTX 560TI next week and hopfully get the H50. The system is very stable i'm aiming to get to atleast 4ghz i've been watching video's and reading up on overclocking.
