If you're looking to optimize your fsx.cfg file, a good beginning point would be as follows:1) Make a backup copy of your existing fsx.cfg file (you might want to reinstall it later, for some reason).2) Delete or rename your fsx.cfg file, then run FSX, letting FSX rebuild a new fsx.cfg with no modifications.3) Use Bojote's Automated Tweaking Tool for FSX to create a modified fsx.cfg file based on your answers to a few simple questions. If you search the forums here at Avsim, you should easily find a link to this tool.4) Install the modified fsx.cfg file. The first time that I tried the Automatic Tweaking Tool, I did not have much success - higher FPS but lots of stuttering. After starting with a new, unmodified fsx.cfg, then running the Automated Tweaking Tool, I nad MUCH better results. I now have higher FPS and much smoother flight, with only an occasional stutter (rarely). My system is likely similar to yours. I'm running an E8600 Core2Duo, overclocked to 4.33 GHz, with 4GB 1066MHz RAM, Dual SSD Drives (One OS, One FSX), a GeForce GT460 Video card (Overclocked), using Windows Vista 32-Bit OS. I would have to say that since rebuilding my cfg file and using the Automated Tweaking Tool, My FSX performance on this mediocre system is the best that it has ever been! Of course these are just my findings. Your results may differ.Gerald
