December 3, 200322 yr When I run FS9 lessons on my rather low end machine, the instructor's speech stutters significantly, as if some syllables are repeated many times. FS runs ok otherwise.I can't find any place to tweak my sound settings, so I'd be glad of any advice.WIN98SE, Soundblaster Live Value sound card.--Bryn
December 3, 200322 yr I have the same operating system and sound card as you do. With newer (5.X) drivers for the sound card I had the sound stuttered really bad with all speech in FS2004. For some odd reason when I switched older drivers (4.X) and all was well. Other than that I tried everything I could think of.Good Luck.Pepe
December 9, 200322 yr Had them but toned down soundquality to low in FS settings/sound and all stuttering was gone.Rob "Holland&Holland" de Vries http://www.emotipad.com/emoticons/Flying.gif"To go up, pull the stick back. To go down, pull the stick back harder"

December 9, 200322 yr Thanks Ron and Rob for the suggestions.I found that changing sound quality in FS did not help, but running DxDiag and reducing sound acceleration to Basic fixed it.Great forum, great help :)--Bryn
