I've been trying to acquaint myself with RC4.3 after owning it for a long time and letting it gather dust. One problem I've been having for a week now since reinstalling is that RC seems to hang whenever FSX either crashes to desktop, or I quit it without first quitting RC. Invariably, I end up having to force-quit the process to get it to shut down. This is on a Windows 7 - 64 system. Is this a known problem, perhaps with a known solution? I can provide any other info you need about my rig, just give me some guidance.thanks,Bill Womack

Hi Bill,RC4 constantly 'listens' to FS so if FS either crashes or is terminated whilst RC is running then unfortunately it will hang. I'm no VB programmer but perhaps it might be possible for it to detect FS is no longer running and close down in a controlled way.But of course prevention is better than cure so the first thing to establish is why FS hangs. The other point is that you will be provided with a Critique option at the end of your flight which you really should listen to. After it's been delivered RC will close automatically.

Thanks, Ray. I'd be happy to stick around for the critique, but FSX seems to have other plans lately... it often doesn't stick around for the end of the flight, either. :( Something is amiss in my system, and I'm still tracking it down.
