May 18, 201115 yr Hi.I've recently noticed a disquieting aspect of a lot of free or stock FS9 aircraft. They need increasing deflection of the rudder during a turn in order to keep the turn coordinated. The only free small aircraft I've found so far that requires a steady deflection is RealAir's C172.Give it a go. Get hold of RealAir's C172 (free) and try a turn. The behaviour is most obvious when skidding, holding the plane level while turning using only the rudder. Steady rudder gives a (nearly) steady change in heading. Then try it in the stock C172. The effect of the rudder diminishes as the turn progresses. Why? Is this fading of the rudder normal? Does it happen in real life?So on to the request... I'm making heavy use of Air Hauler and looking for a twin (turbo?) prop that handles well (i. e. authentically). What's available that doesn't suffer strange control surface behaviour?Cheers,D
May 20, 201115 yr it isnt you, its FS. or in fact the flightmodel. (FDE)There is a similair thread in the fsx forum about this. The rudder isnt modelled very well, and can be helped in the air file (FDE)I dont recall at this moment what to change however..Can you point me where you found this C172 ?Johan
May 23, 201115 yr Author Hello Johan.Thank you! The lack of a response was making me think my set-up was at fault. The Realair C172 is here, and astonishingly better than the stock aircraft. I don't have any payware aircraft so I can't compare it with them but it's impressed me very much...http://www.realairsimulations.com/list_box.php?page=downloads∼=fs9&product=c172&fileType=freeware&submit=GoI've been considering Flight1's Cessna 441 Conquest or Carenado's PA34 Seneca. Do they suffer in the same way? I suppose they'd be much better modelled but if anyone cares to describe the accuracy of their modelling I'd be grateful.Kind regards,D
