No handoff to Tower

Featured Replies

A flight today departing from KMYF, Montgomery Field in San Diego. After receiving Clearance, I switched to Ground who instructed me to taxi to Runway 23 for departure. Everything normal so far. On my way to RWY 23, I received no instructions from Ground to contact the Tower or to monitor the tower freq. I waited at the runway threshold for about 2 minutes with no further contact. I closed down RC4, and restarted my flight. But again, there were no instructions from Ground to contact the Tower and I arrived at the runway without hearing again from Ground or the Tower. This has never happened previously. I'm thinking that the possible reason for the above is that the RC4 database for KMYF is lacking this particular ATCT frequency. Is there someway I can check this? Thanks.

Look at the controller tab for the frequencies used. In addition be sure you are close enough to the runway edge so RC sees you are ready to enter the runway when cleared. Do you hear any AI on tower with you such as those on final approach?RC uses its own frequency database so be sure you use the RC option to tune your comm1 on contact. I think it is 125.7.Have you upgrade makerwys.exe (link in the pinned topic) and run the scenery rebuild so RC correctly knows where you are?Are you sure you taxied to the correct runway? (Yes, I have made that mistake especially on parallels.)Here's a link to the the airport current chart:http://flightaware.com/resources/airport/KMYF/APD/AIRPORT+DIAGRAM

OK, thanks Ron. Good tips, and I'll check them out on the next flight.
