A curious App problem

Featured Replies

HeyIve been flying the 747-400 for a little while now and recently I had to re-install FSX and all my addons. The Queen is back online and re-installed fine. My only problem is now it doesn't follow the ILS to the T in approach mode. It shows about quarter scaled deflection on the G/S and half scale deflection (on the smaller more finite scale) on the llz..Its really weird. I have the correct autopilot modes displaying. Land 3, LOC and G/S with FLARE and ROLLOUT annunciated. When I hand fly it lines up normally. However if in autoland (which I don't normally do) it lands off centre and late.Any help is appreciatedThanks in advance

Hi Cameron,Does the problem repeat itself for several airports ? If not, have you installed a specific scenery for the airport you're having trouble with ?Try the Flight1 Registry tool, available here : http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=libraryA few users have had similar problems before and this seems to have fixed it.If this doesn't cover it, we'll look at the some fields that might be causing communication issues with the aircraft.Cheers,

HiYes I have used it at several different airports. VHHH, YSSY, YMML and YBBN. I have ORBX sceneries for YBBN and YMML.I have done the registry fix but the problem isn't that the ILS isn't aligning with the runway, my problem is that approach mode just seems to not maintain the glideslope and the localizer properly. I get below and to the left indications. If I autoland it normally ends up landing late with a wing gear on the grass.

Make sure you're running the registry tool with the "Run as Administrator" command - it won't work on Vista or Win7 without that.

Cameron,I should have stressed on the fact that the 'Registry tool' must be run with complete administrator rights. If you've tried it without giving it complete authority, it won't be able to modify any files but will still be able to find the errors in the registry.EDIT : Looks like Ryan beat me to it. :Applause:Do you have the Wilco 737 installed ? If so, it is known that it modifies PMDG files during installation and could cause issues with PMDG aircrafts.Since it's repeating itself at different airports, it can't be an AFCAD mistake. So that goes out the window. What AIRAC cycle is your 747 operating on ? If you've updated the cycle, I suggest reverting back to the older version to see if that eradicates the problem. Sometimes AIRAC data from Navigraph can be different from the ones in Flight Simulator causing a conflict and leading to an issue like yours. You may also want to read further on this issue which has been discussed before and solved. I'm posting the links to these threads below.http://forum.avsim.n...ed-with-runway/http://forum.avsim.n...ing-off-runway/http://forum.avsim.n...off-center-rwy/Cheers,

Thanks everyone for their replies.I did have the problem where the localizer was landing the aircraft off the runway and I fixed that by running the registry tool. I will try it again and install it using admin privleges, when I finish my flight. Will try and get some screenshots on landing.I have AIRAC 1105 and that was one thing that I did change when I reinstalled FSX, I was previously using AIRAC 1104.

I updated the AIRAC cycle to 1105 too, recently, and it has been causing some problems with the ILS. Specifically for the airport VIDP. At least you're making it to the runway. Had it not been for my charts, I would have never been able to figure out I'm not on track due to the low visibility around the airport. I was about 3 NM East of the runway on the ILS tracking perfectly, somehow. Cheers,
