May 29, 201115 yr Hi,Firstly, I want to say the 737NGX previews look amazing. Well done PMDG for your work so far and like everybody here I am really looking forward to flying this plane when released. Now to my question.I have been trialing Aivlasoft's Electronic Flight Bag but I am having trouble getting my created flight plans to load on the MD-11 FMC.I have tried all of the formats (.RTE/.RT2 and the JS41 RTE) available in the save options and saving them to the PMDG/Flightplans folder, but the FMC is always 'unable to load flightplan'.At the same time, I have read old topics on Avsim where members are saying they are able to load EFB flight plans to the MD-11. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong, but I'm sure it is a user fault. I am hoping that some members here are using EFB with the MD-11 and will be able to help me get this sorted, as I am very impressed with the EFB otherwise. Currently, I am still able to test the software by manually entering the flightplan to the FMC but obviously this is not ideal.Currently I have prepared my plans this way:I create my flight plan by loading it through the "route finder" option in EFB, for example KSEA-KLAX this morning.Route finder comes up with the route to use and I set the cruise altitude and finally save it to both the normal flightplan location for Radar contact and to the PMDG/flightplan folder.(as mentioned, I have tried all the available formats for saving, but MD-11 has been unable to load any of them). Radar contact is able to load the plan fine with no problems. The only other possibly relevant information I can give, is that I haven't updated MD-11 or EFB with any Navigraph updates so far, so it is possible/likely that these are not in sync and that could be causing my problem. However, inputting the waypoints manually does seem to work, so I'm not sure what to think about this. I have been planning to update the charts and airac if I do end up purchasing the EFB to make sure these sync.Hopefully someone here is able to give me pointers on how to get this to work. Many thanks,Marko Hyypia

Make sure you have the latest version of EFB. I had this problem sometimes with the previous build. I hope it helps. May 29, 201115 yr Author Thanks for the suggestion. I checked to made sure I have the latest version available for download on their site, but I already did.Interestingly, I just completed another flight from KJFK to KORD, doing exactly the same planning sequence as mentioned above, and this time it worked with the .RT2 format.I can only guess that there is something in the route from KSEA to KLAX where the navdata or something doesn't agree.I am getting closer and closer to buying the EFB now. I just hope that once I update both EFB and the MD-11 to the same cycle from Navigraph, this problem will go away.

May 30, 201115 yr Author Hi,Just wanted to say thanks for the suggestions. As mentioned, I have now purchased the EFB licence and upgraded the nav data and sid star data for both EFB and PMDG to 1105 and it seems the problems have gone away.I haven't actually tried the KSEAKLAX route again, but I haven't run into problems with any other routes since, so I believe it is working fine. Thanks,Marko Hyypia
