I've just converted to Win 7 from XP. After re-installing FSX there were no problems. Was able to re-install aircraft etc. However, yesterday while attempting to load FSX here's what happened.Started FSX, main screen comes up, fly now activated, system starts loading terrain data, but at 71% the appears to be an autogen problem and we do a CTD. I've never seen this before so I'm hoping that someone out there has a solution to this problem short of deleting and re-installing.System: Win 7 Home Premium, 126G SSD, 600G Velociraptor, NVidea GTX 570, 16Gmem, FSX SP2 (no acceleration)Jack Fentress

Are you overclocking? If so, try at default, see if that makes a difference.

Paul.......No, I'm not overclocking.Jack

I assume with all that RAM that you're running Win 7 64bit, so your memory ought not to be an issue. If it looks like autogen, I wonder if it's worth trying to uninstall, one at a time, the last few scenery mods/addons you installed, see if you got a corrupt install?Grasping at straws, I'm afraid. But worth trying rather than a complete reinstall.

So when you reinstalled "aircraft etc." did you start FSX after each one or only after the whole lot got installed?Simple questions that shouldn't have to be asked, like define "etc." or what airport were you trying to start at?Otherwise, to say it now doesn't work and ask why, only serves to prolong your agony. As everyone else needs to play a guessing game.

Let me say I am no pro at this, but I do have FSX running great on my quad-core laptop. I read up on installation before installing...1. I put FSX into C:\FSX.2. I ran the default flight right after install3. then I updated FSX with the acceleration pack4. ran another flight, restarted computerThe next day it crashed twice when loading up. I deleted the cfg file. It's been running great for the last week or so without crashing. If you keep having issues, perhaps you need to manually clean the registry?? (just a WAG). good luck with it!

Dave.........I've only had the new system for a couple of days so I'm really not too comfortable with everything yet. I also read up on the move from XP to Win 7 and found so many different solutions to things that it all became a blur.I installed the OS on C: and FSX as E:FSX which ran OK until trouble mentioned. To be honest, I've been trying to find the FSX config file but haven't had any luck yet. I did run the flight after install and re-installed SP2 (no acceleration). I've cleaned the registry once on E: and did a defrag also. If you can give me some direction about the config file that would be a great help and we'll see where we go from there. I know that in the past getting a new file sometimes worked wonders with problems. Not always but often enough.Jack
