Try this guide: http://www.simforums.com/forums/setting-up-fsx-and-how-to-tune-it_topic29041.htmlAnd everything here for setting up Windows:http://www.simforums.com/Forums/topic34141_post198187.html#198187I just upgraded to FSX. The first time I installed it, I did it on my own and tried various tweaks. I could not get it to perform very well at all - lots of stutters. So, I did a re-install and followed these two tutorials from beginning to end and now have it running very smooth. Good luck!
