Aircraft ext textures disappear unless I reboot. Any ideas?

I notice with complex 3rd party, and sometimes default aircraft, the exterior textures disappear. The cure is to reboot fresh, and all is well. Any ideas how to prevent this, without downgrading sliders too much?Noel
