June 11, 201114 yr Does anyone know what I need to do to use the wing views from one FSX plane with another one? What I mean by this is that I would like to use the high resolution textured wings of one plane with another, similar plane. I have already worked out the "camera definition" part (ie. the viewpoint). June 11, 201114 yr I think I understand your question and if so, it's not doable. Textures are called by the MDL file and unless a particular texture is THE EXACT SAME as the other, it's not going to match up. Take a good look at a paint kit for a big plane sometime. You'll see parts scattered and squeezed wherever possible to limit the amount of drawcalls, requests by FSX for reading a texture file.
June 12, 201114 yr Author Thanks, meshman. I guessed that it might be a difficult thing to do :( Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
June 12, 201114 yr Author Well, the VC has been successfully transferred to the new plane, but I don't hear any sounds when I operate the flaps or landing gear. Do I need to do anything specific to get these working? June 12, 201114 yr Author I worked it out. It seems that the volume settings in the sound.cfg file needed to be adjusted :( Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
