MS Flight Sim 2 (1984) with scenery disk 12 (New York)
I used Flight Simulator 2 on the Commodore Amiga 500, but my first PC version was Flight Simulator 4.0b. I particularly enjoyed using the Mallard Software Hawaii and Tahiti packages with this version, and also their impressive (for the time) rendition of the Grand Canyon.

MSFS 2024 - PMDG 777F pitch problem
Ah, now that I think about it, that "pitch up" happens before I activate the autopilot. I do not remember that happening in the P3D version of the 777.

MSFS 2024 - PMDG 777F pitch problem
I assumed that "pitch up" shortly after take off was because I activate the autopilot quite early, but you are saying that this is an actual flaw in the flight dynamics of the PMDG 777?

MS Flight Sim 2 (1984) with scenery disk 12 (New York)
This may sound strange, but I can understand someone wanting to get FS1/2/3/4 running again. However, everything from FS5 to FS2002 was garbage as far as I am concerned. Not worth the time and effort to get it running, never mind get any enjoyment out of it.

San Francisco...
I can understand Noel's comment about "tourist traps". There is a small town in Yorkshire (England) called Castleton that I visited maybe 35 years ago on a camping holiday with a couple of friends. It was lovely and quiet, and a joy to walk around. I returned maybe 15 years later, and now there are tourists everywhere. Totally ruined the place ☹️

World Update 22: US National Parks out on 4th July
I guess that is because the SU5.1 Beta is still in progress.

Orbx Atlanta
I think that this is a very good solution for most airports. It would probably make it easier for developers to provide compatibility with photogrammetry enabled or disabled, and still retain the correct profiles for runways and associated taxiways.

MSFS 2024 - PMDG 777F pitch problem
I do not remember a pitch oscillation problem during this stage of a flight in the P3D version of the 777F. It may have had one or two issues now and again during descent, but overall I actually enjoyed flying the 777F in P3D more than I am in MSFS 2024. In fact, this problem is going to relegate the 777F to the maintenance hangar for now. I will concentrate on flying several different variations of the 737, which (apart from the minor "turn wobble" issue) is more enjoyable and relaxing to fly. At least it does not have any FBW "logic"! EDIT: On a side note, I had "bouncing" issues with the 747-400 in P3D, so I really hope that they make sure that this does not happen in the MSFS 2024 version of the aircraft.

MSFS 2024 - PMDG 777F pitch problem
No, it was a relatively simple circuit of an airport, but I was using LNAV and VNAV.

MSFS 2024 - PMDG 777F pitch problem
My PMDG 777F still exhibits "the bounce" at certain times, even though I have the latest version installed. The autopilot was conducting a shallow turn in a short flight earlier today, and the power kicked in because the speed had fallen 5 knots below that on the MCP. However, as the aircraft rolled out to level flight, it started "bouncing" (pitching up and down numerous times). This is a massive immersion killer, and I wish that it could be corrected. Is anyone else still experiencing this problem? I have posted this message on the PMDG forum.

I have never felt the need to be anonymous online, but then I am not a real world airliner pilot who plays with toys in their spare time 😉

FlyTampa EHAM updated
It is my understanding that FlyTampa intend to build a new version of EHAM Amsterdam Schiphol at some point, but when that will arrive is anyone's guess. In my opinion, the current MSFS 2024 patched version (plus the freeware 3D procedural grass patch) is good enough to satisfy me until that day (even if some of the taxiway signs currently exhibit low resolution textures). Of course, I do not use VATSIM (or anything like that), so I do not need the simulated airport to exactly match the real world airport as of 2026 June 4. With respect to the low resolution taxiway sign textures, this airport is not the only one that suffers from this. It appears that some MSFS 2020 airports have this problem in MSFS 2024 (MK Studios BIKF Keflavik and IniBuilds LDDU Dubrovnik spring to mind), so I am hoping that they are all fixable in the near future.

Scenery distorted (KBOS)
I have well over one hundred detailed payware airports installed on my PC, and not once have I experienced any serious problems with taxiways or aprons with PG disabled. Yes, even at IniBuilds airports!! Any issues are generally on the periphery of airports, like just short of the runway 09L threshold at EGLL London Heathrow, where the roads/bridges/Duke of Northumberland river area is somewhat "messy". To be honest, this is probably because most developers actually think about non PG users and PG users (I know that UK2000 and MK Studios do this). I appreciate that it may be more work, but I say again..........PG is an option, not a base foundation of MSFS scenery.

I run TLOD @ 250 everywhere on my PC, and I do not have any performance issues when on the ground.

Need 2 sceneries to fly over the pond
Birmingham airport's runway has been extended to 10000 feet (3048 metres), so it should have no problem receiving a 747 these days.
