  1. ....and yet IniBuilds have just released what appears to be an incredibly detailed simulation of KMKE Milwaukee for FREE, and MS/Asobo have released God knows how many updates and improvements for FREE. Granted they may not have resolved a few annoying issues, but they seem to have done a heck of a lot of work without expecting anything in return.
  2. Photogrammetry OFF testing will begin at 3:15 PM this afternoon (14:15 UTC)
  3. This kind of thing is exactly why developers need to remember that all parts of an airport need to be well detailed. Just because the sim pilot is not able to see specific areas from the taxiways or aprons does not mean that texture quality and levels of detail should be less at the airport perimeter. Helicopter/ultralight/VTOL jet pilots can fly and land almost anywhere. In addition, a large number of users enjoy exploring airports outside of their planes. The drone view is perfect for this (and excellent for beta testing purposes). In short, Microsoft Flight Simulator can be used for a lot more than just flying a plane. The detail levels are so high that exploration and discovery can be a rewarding experience. I would also argue that this is exactly why we should be seeing 3D interiors as standard in airport addons. Those parallax interiors are last generation stuff, although they can be acceptable if used carefully (and sparingly).
  4. The recent poll on this forum suggests that over a quarter of AVSIM members have PG switched off. That's a pretty big chunk of the market (for payware addons). Even though I do not fly in the USA at the moment, I will install this and do a bit of beta testing
  5. I have never seen the kind of texture bleed through that can be seen in that video, but I have only been using MSFS since last November. I run in DX11 mode, and the only relevant issues that I have seen are the awful purple and lime green textures on the Isle of Man, and a handful of other occasions where different shade texture tiles appear as I have approached a particular airport (from memory, these were EGGW Luton, EGAA Belfast International, and KSNA John Wayne Orange County). Having said that, I have not see the issue since at EGGW Luton.
  6. I do not use Aivlasoft EFB, but I am really hoping that something can be sorted so that you guys can continue to use it.
  7. They will probably release it in September, but it will not be available to purchase from the MS Marketplace until November
  8. The stars were not that impressive in FSX and P3D. Certainly in the latter, they were visible with the Sun completely above the horizon. In addition, the range of "brightness" of the stars was very low, so identifying constellations was almost impossible. Another issue that I noticed was that all of the stars suddenly disappeared from view at the exact moment of sunrise, and only slowly started to reappear....one by one. Hardly what I would call realistic.
  9. It may have been removed, but it can be downloaded from the Fly Away Simulation site, and you do not need a PRO membership to get it at proper download speeds. https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/24877/msfs-ai-ships-boats-global-traffic/
  10. Nope, I have not noticed any performance issues with this package installed.
  11. This is definitely one of the best freeware packages available for MSFS. I used the P3D version, and installing the MSFS version when I switched to the new simulator last November was a no brainer. It adds so much to the immersion, and getting a close up view of one of the models when on final approach to an airport located near water is always a special experience
  12. I think that they have resolved the "2Mbps download speed" problem. I have installed the last couple of updates and two or three MS Marketplace products recently, and all of them have downloaded at a minimum of 20Mbps right from the start.
  13. I had a couple of those this morning, so it is probably an MS server issue.
  14. According to Gary Summons (UK2000 developer) they seem to have resolved the issue with the "purple and lime green textures" on the Isle of Man
  15. I can live with another delay if they fix the "land bars" issue, and the Isle of Man.
  16. The -300ER is not the version of the 777 that I would want, so I will have to wait even longer before I can consider a purchase.
  17. I have tried reinstalling LFBO, but I have not done the same for ENTO. I guess that is my next task.
  18. Good to know that MK Studios are developing LPPT v2. I will wait for that one to be released.
  19. If the MAX cockpit has significant differences to the NG, then I would expect PMDG to model this in their simulated version. Despite the comment above about PMDG being "the masters of recycling", they do not generally release products with "cut and paste" content from another product.
