  1. I am what could be termed a "lazy flyer", so autopilots, autothrottles and NDs are a basic requirement! The increased level of automation gives me more time to enjoy the scenery....and let's face it, looking at the gorgeous scenery is a rather large part of the immersion in MSFS. That being the case, I am really looking forward to the JustFlight Avro RJ.
  2. I wonder what percentage of the MSFS userbase has PG disabled? That would be an interesting statistic.
  3. I activated PG just out of curiosity to see what all the fuss was about, but I quickly switched it off again. I think that MSFS in Autogen mode looks fantastic. I would love to see more City Landmarks addons though (Brussels for example).
  4. Interesting. I wonder what exactly they mean by "incompatibility" then? I guess I will just have to buy the airport, and go on a drone tour
  5. ....and yet not a single other airport that I have installed is claimed to be incompatible with PG switched off. Konterhalbe mentioned the performance differences, but there are other reasons.....cities looking like war zones at distance/low resolution textures and visible artefacts at close range/visible colouration differences between PG areas and normal Bing maps/terrain issues at PG boundaries etc.
  6. I sincerely hope that addon developers do not make a habit of this. I have no intention of using PG in MSFS, so I need my airports to be compatible with full on autogen mode.
  7. That would also have to include annular eclipses, so the apparent size of the Moon (and the Sun to a lesser extent) would need to be rendered accurately. I suspect that will not be the case at the moment.
  8. Can someone who has the IniBuilds EGGW Luton airport addon installed please try it with PG disabled? The IniBuilds website information for the airport states that it is not compatible with PG switched off, but I am curious to know how incompatible it is. Are there serious elevation issues at the airport with PG disabled?
  9. I used to like the (fictional) BEA Red Square colour scheme for the Avro RJ70.....
  10. The path of the 1991 July 11 total solar eclipse was nowhere near Russia, so the accuracy is way off. No wonder Dave is unable to see totality at New Brunswick on 2024 April 8.
  11. That is the age I would be if I somehow managed to make it to the next total solar eclipse visible from mainland UK (23rd September 2090). The next total solar eclipse visible from my home town of Ulverston in England is 14th June 2151 (2m34s of totality).
  12. I also forgot that you probably run with PG enabled. I assume that would make quite a difference.
  13. My assumption was because I could not understand why you would struggle with performance from a PC that is so much more powerful than mine. I appreciate that you run at a higher resolution, but even so I would have thought that your PC would never have a problem at a TLOD of 200.
  14. I assume you mean that you would struggle with performance into the very large airports with hundreds of AI planes enabled? I have TLOD at 250 and OLOD at 200 on my PC, and I do not struggle into any airports (including IniBuilds EGLL London Heathrow and FlyTampa EHAM Amsterdam Schiphol) with AI disabled. Admittedly I have everything set to HIGH rather than ULTRA, but I am still amazed by how much detail my i5 7600k can shift at decent framerates.
  15. It was cloudy during the 11th August 1999 total solar eclipse from my viewpoint on the Devon-Cornwall border, but I can honestly say that it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Do not hesitate to attempt to see one if you have the opportunity to do so. I am already excited about the possibility of seeing totality in 2026!
  16. Raul @ FSReborn is intending to develop a Boeing 727-200 Advanced after the Phenom 300.
  17. The next total solar eclipse is the one on 12th August 2026, and I intend to be in Spain on that day to see it
  18. Where was this guy viewing the 1991 eclipse? The path of totality for that one did not cross mainland USA.
  19. You will not notice any obvious darkening until the Moon obscures probably more than 70 per cent of the Sun. If totality is 1.5 hours away for you, then the eclipse will not have even started!!
  20. I made the mistake of thinking that you had attempted a purchase directly from their website. I did that, and I had to run the IniManager to download and install the products that I had purchased. That worked fine, but evidently making the actual purchase via IniManager is where the problems arise. I will try to read more carefully next time
  21. When they have some deliverables to deliver, they will deliver them
  22. No problem. I totally understand why you were annoyed. I should have been a bit more careful and descriptive in what I posted. Have you managed to resolve the issue?
